I received a signed COLB this AM. It is in a PDF format. I cannot find how to paste it into the post ? I don't now if it's real, but appears to be from a law firm last night at approx. 11:30 PM.
Does anyone know if a PDF file can be posted ?

Another thing just crossed my mind.
On actual legal documents, sometimes there are anomalies. Spelling, dates, things typed in the wrong spaced, left there or subsequently whited out, etc. Not often, but occasionally. So one anomaly doesn’t necessarily, IMO, give the stamp of “forgery”. The accuracy (as far as what is known) is of equal or more importance, as well as provenance or chain of custody.
I am just a know-nothing, but just from what I’ve seen this can’t be ruled one way or another, although probably fake.
Also, since if this authentic, it would have been filed by the grandmother in a sort of unusual method anyway so that automatically makes it not like most of the other birth certificates.

And I either didn’t notice or it didn’t register, or didn’t say, did the origianl procurer of the purported document say he had the paper in hand? Or is it only on the internet?
Yes, but it’s a close enough lead that it should be checked out.
You are correct to a degree. If you look at the Nordyke BC’s you will see differences between them, like one say “Honolulu Hawaii” and the other says “Honolulu Oahu”. So one could argue that one was fake, but we know they are genuine and that anomaly is just a mistake on the part of the preparer.
Most times this stuff bugs me, JJ. Here’s another image of an unsubstantiated document that could have been found in a bottle on the beach for all we know. The problem in this and every case is provenance and the chain of evidence is lacking. It’s lacking because it never existed.
That 1 following Honolulu is a footnote referring to the 1 in Box 23: “1. Birthplace: Kenya; Registered Honolulu”
True, but my signature is missing more that a few legible letters, and she was a bank officer who had to crank out lots of signatures. Your reflexive signature (and it becomes a sort of reflex for professional signers) can morph into something less than perfect...and news that your 18-year-old daughter just had your first grand baby in Kenya could play on your nerves a bit!
