Doctors fighting to save the life of the world's heaviest man are considering calling in an RAF Chinook to move him 150 miles to a specialist centre that will treat him.
Paul Mason, who weighs 70 stone, needs the help of weight-loss doctors and possible surgery to lose tens of stones.
But the treatment will have to take place in Chichester, West Sussex, a considerable distance from his home in Ipswich.
The Health Service has introduced a number of the specialist ambulances designed to transport massively overweight patients but it is not clear if one can be made available to take 48-year-old Mr Mason to Chichester.
Health chiefs are therefore considering a number of alternative ways to transport him there, including using a Chinook.
Mr Mason, who has made numerous unsuccessful attempts to shed weight permanently and is now virtually immobile, lives in bungalow with a 4ft-wide front door.
If a cargo helicopter were used to take him to Chichester, the operation would probably involve moving him from his home in a specially reinforced wheelchair or stretcher to a nearby clearing where the helicopter would be able to land.
Several paramedics would then be needed to push Mr Mason - possibly with electronic assistance - along the loading ramp into the aircraft.
Mr Mason, a former engineer who suffers from food addiction, has previously admitted tucking into three family-sized takeaways every day - equivalent to around 20,000 calories. A typical adult male needs around 2,500 calories a day.
His weight had soared to 62 stone before he managed to drop to 45 stone in 2007. But he has has since put on another 25.

Not to be crude; but eating crappy food, and too much of it, has to be the problem.
We have all seen what these kind of people eat. Loads of prefab salty, fatty junk.
Lots of hydrogenated fat, corn syrup, and carbs.
And sugared soft drinks.
>Paul Mason, who weighs 70 stone
He almost has enough stones for the GOP....
[/horrible-pun]
True, I am 5’6 and 140lbs and if I am really hungry can put away a ton of food, but then am sick for the next 1-2 days. I always say you have to work on getting that fat and if only they put the same amount of effort into something productive as they do getting food they could be millionaires.
>Someone isn’t doing daily chores.
As my apartment can attest...
>Lots of hydrogenated fat, corn syrup
I’ve been working on a gift to humanity: hydrogenated corn-syrup.

“How do those people get so fat?”
He quit smoking.
I’ve often wondered why some hockey team doesnt hire a guy like that for goalie.
Okaaaaay. You learn something every day.
Wow That’s big. It ought to be a rule in that house or any house with one of these gigantic folks: Until you can walk to the store on your own, you’re getting salad. Meanwhile, we’re sound-proofing your room, so we don’t have to listen to the whining.

actually they get that big because they have an enabler who allow them to do so. Someone buys their food, prepares it for them and serves it to them....that person should be held liable

lol I needed that ....just tell him the puck is made of chocolate...
Most people have a weight gaining plateau. Meaning, for example, they might get up as high as 250 from over eating, but at that point, they don't continue to eat more, they just don't cut down.
Should they cut their food intake in half, their weight would drop. But yo yo dieting causes an upset in metabolism. So if the person at 250, cut calories and dropped to 180, then went off the diet and starting eating as before, they balloon back up. Each time they diet again, they have to take in less and less calories to lose weight.
Now people in the 500+ class, are suffering from more than likely a glandular problem, or a metabolism disorder.
The sad part is that Dr's don't see it early enough to treat it when they are fairly healthy and not seriously obese :(
Plus, you wouldn't have to buy any meat!
People are different. What works for one doesn't work for another. Most of us should be thankful we weren't born with this man's biochemistry.
Still everyone at first will throw up and get sick when they overeat, it is like drinking or smoking you need to build up to becoming a heavy user. You just can’t go from a 2,000 calorie diet too a 5,000 one overnight. I also notice a lot of these fat people drink diet soda, my theory is the body is shocked into thinking it is starved because this non water liquid has no calories so it tells you to eat and eat.
“I dont think bariatric or any other surgery will help him unless he fixes his head.”
Can we get some input from Obama, Harry Reid or Nanny Pelosi?
I saw that show, too. He was in Mexico. Used to live in California where he porked up eating fast food. His girl friend was pretty and small and her family was against her relationship with him. She would wash him in bed - a major undertaking and they showed part of that. Disturbing.
I remember a scene where doctors had to clear him for his first trip out of his place in years. He was loaded in the back of a truck with lots of help but the vehicle had to turn around and take him back after an almost accident caused his blood pressure to rise. His mother and other relatives cooked for him in shifts - all frying stuff with heavy grease before the diet. What a situation. Just ghastly. Wanted to turn it off but had to know how it ended.
I believe I read sometime later that he had died despite all the efforts by him and a bunch of other people to get his weight off.
That is a riot!
So was the guy that went off on a rant about the line, “never touch another dirty piece of toilet paper”, though he’s a bit of a potty mouth. (”WHY IS MY COUNTRY PLAGUED WITH STUPID INVENTIONS LIKE THE SH*T STICK?)
Some sadistic bastard is feeding him.
