Hmmm. 10/19/39 is a Thursday. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if Frank Nugent reviews this film for the Friday entertainment page. You know, there is another high profile premier this week. That is "Babes In Arms," the Mickey Rooney-Judy Garland feature directed by Busby Berkeley.
The Netherlands Prepares

Most curious to see the Dutch referred to as "blond giants." Yes, today it's said that Dutch on average grow taller than any others, but that was not the case years ago.
I wonder how these "blond giants" will stand up against Hitler's airborn troops?
I didn't see Jack Carson's name in the main credits link on today's movie review thread but Kaltenborn actually is credited as a cast member.
