A half black, half white animal from Chicago causing problems. Why am I not surprised?

Darn, he forgot the rule: S, S and S.

I looked through the replies hoping someone else had asked. It's up to me.

What is S, S and S?

I trapped 8 skunks last year but turned them out in the country.

How does that work? What do you transport them in?

I actually prefer to trap them and let them loose on somebody’s property that I don’t like. The best bait for a coon is blackberry jam. They can’t resist the stuff!

Thought that this was Elmhurst Queens. We have lots of skunks in NYC, and not just in City Hall. When I lived in the Bronx, my neighbor was sprayed said critter when he stepped out of our building one day.

I trap them in one of that Hav a Hart wire cages. It you come up on them with a blanket and slowly cover them up, they are quite docile. Just don’t scare them.

Elmhurst, Du Page County is a great conservative Republican suburb in a conservative county about 20 miles due west of Crook County, Chicago.

The cops and local elected personages are not fascist skunks. The trapping prohibition in this tree-lined, upper middle-class, completely built-up town is necessary because there's always the presence of sick sadists who take pleasure in trapping squirrels and rabbits....and neighbors' cats and doggies.

I lived in the village next door to Elmhurst for 20 years. Good folks reside there.

I must be. First time I've ever seen it.

Thanks.

Shoot, Shovel and Shutup.

When dealing with varmints and game of course (had to add that disclaimer).

I've been on here since '98.....and I read EVERYTHING.....but I never heard "S, S & S" before.

Maybe they're the thingies I used to save and stick into little booklets and redeem for small premiums.

Were they green?

You should smear a couple of gallon of the stuff on the white house steps. The critters would feel right at home.

I hated handing out S&H Greenstamps when I worked in a service station during college. That was back when you didn't pump your own gas.

On rainy days, they would stick together and annoy everyone involved.

Am I that olde?

S, S, and S comes in real handy in wolf country. Specially after a successful “fishin” trip. So I hear.

I wouldn’t want to do that to the rankest ‘coon that I know! Maybe a ‘possum?

Essentially, when it started many years ago the basic premise went like this; when by necessity or happenstance removing some offending vermin, have the foresight to remove it quietly and quickly (Shoot), promptly remove the evidence (Shovel), and never mention it to anyone (Shut Up) -unless you are LOOKING for trouble. See? S, S, & S (U).
