Here is newly released home video by the family of "Balloon Boy" Falcon Heene of the liftoff of the balloon from the backyard yesterday. You see the father, Richard Heene, doing a countdown, and then the balloon takes off with the father appearing agitated. The father was close to the balloon as it took off. . . . (VIDEO)

My scenario:

Dummy dad lets the Balloon go and then realized "Oh, snap! I'm going to get in trouble if a plane or something hits it." Super Dad then tells the youngest kid to go hide in the attic or somewhere and then he calls 911 to report the incident.

Obviously Super Dad didn't think the whole scenario out very well.

That and reports had it that there was a basket unerneath which it was presummed the kid might be in and that it had fallen off.

A**holes.

I think the dad lost it with an accidental release, then can’t find the kid and in a panic was not thinking straight.

But all yesterday afternoon, the story was that the boy, or boys accidentally untethered the thing. And the older boy was being quoted as a witness, with no mention that the parents had witnessed any part of the incident.

I think that Super Dad was pissed off that the UFO caught a branch and caused a small hole fabric. He knew all along the box wasn't attached at the bottom.

So where is the real stupid tipoff....

Don't tell me the parents didn't know about the attic hideaway...The kid was probably caught up there 100 times already.

“because... you said..... we... did it for the show...”

That's exactly what was it. The parents told the kids this (releasing the balloon and the media aftermath) was just going to be part of another reality show, like the one they did before.

Actually, it had to be a hoax...they know damn well that balloon did not have the lift power to carry their son.

I admit being caught up in the moment when the story broke yesterday. But after seeing the live video of the balloon I thought there is no way that balloon is carrying any weight. The helium in the balloon would have all accumulated at the top due to the load, and the weight of the boy would have caused it to be bottom heavy.

I was surprised to see 'hoax' this morning on Drudge, but after seeing all the video and their interviews, I'm also convinced as well. HOAX !!

I was just barely aware of the incident yesterday. Did any of the talking heads ask how much weight the basket could hold?

Now that I recall they kept saying if the kid is at 10,000 feet there is not much oxygen.

I thought, you guys are really dumber than a box of rocks. I have been to 15,000 feet, snowboarding, in Chile. There is plenty of oxygen. The air is thinner and you feel it when you are climbing and then going back down to base. But, even base is at 9,600 feet.

I snowboard at Tahoe and the top of Heavenly is 10,000 feet. No problem, except for the part there is no bar there. But, it does give an incentive to get to the bottom of Stagecoach Run, where there is a Bar.

Not a very good sentence. Did the family release the video, or did authorities release it?

As I and others have already said, if the family voluntarily released it, the parents must be devoid of all common sense, since this contradicts the stories told all yesterday about the boy, or boys releasing the thing.

“So did you get a ride in a flying saucer, Falcon?”

“No, but I did puke on national TV!”

Yeah, the kid was hiding, and they didn’t know it. Yesterday, after they found the kid hiding, I remarked that it was fishy; if your kid is missing you will search every square inch of your property over and over.

Even before the whole story came out, I knew the parents had to be strange when I learned that the kid was named Falcon.

It's a bizarre story. The police, or sheriff's department conducted searches of the home, and had a little egg on their face when the kid showed up.

They did, rather casually, go on TV right afterward so their untrained thespian kid could say “It was for the show”.

The family was storm chasers......have any of you watch the Weather channel latly?? Some real stupid stuff on it. Some of them act as if they are on something. It more like a movie actor or drama or trying to get a acting job by weather people. It is sick I tell you. They into sport, news and Obama on it also just as he is on HGTV and DIY Obama is everywhere. This Saddam stuff people.
