Veteran actor Sean Connery has refused to give up his favourite red wine even after been diagnosed with a heart condition.
The former James Bond star has been warned to stop drinking alcohol by medics but he refuses to give up, as he believes it is good for his health.
“I do drink red wine because of my friend David Murray, who owns two French wine estates. He showed me the evidence that it was good for the health,” the Daily Express quoted him as telling Wine Spectator magazine.
“I favour Merlots from Chile for their value and I keep a good deal of California wine in my cellar. I have one that cost me USD 2,000 for two cases, which I think is rather steep,” he added.

I agree. Too many doctors try to stop all people’s pleasures when they are very elderly. Like the old joke, “what do you want to live for’ after someone gave up everything.

Just buy a liter, and use the old "if I don't drink it, it will go bad" line. You can also pretend to use it for marinating a steak, but need the obligatory "sample" while you do your marinating. The "marinating" ploy actually isn't even a falsehood. You ARE marinating something. Of course, that "something" is YOU.
I'm divorced, so I moved myself up from 2 glasses per day. It was a good trade. Rotten wife for good wine.
Dump your doctor and get your brother's.
That depends on his heart condition. If it's blockage, then red wine can help. If it's heart failure then, alcohol can hurt. There are ways to get the benefits of red wine without the alcohol.

Soak the blueberries in Ruby Port, then have them for brewakfast and the port before bedtime.
BTW, I never have figured out how Fish/Abe kept a straight face so well working with that crew of Barney Miller! It’s in reruns here on cable and such a delight.
My father’s doc used to encourage him to drink a little wine now and then - he (my father, not the doc) died a while back, a few months short of his ninetieth birthday....
I was a big Barney Miller fan back in the day. Never missed it. Always loved Steve Landesburg’s dry wit. Great show. Love those old school early 70s sitcoms.
get a medium non-flavored non-charcoal filtered domestic vodka ~~pit some fresh cherries and throw them in the bottle~~the probable next question is “how am I going to spit those thru the neck of the bottle because it’s all filled up?” so, go get some cherries and start eating some and then have a little vodka~take the pits out of the cherries and drink a little more vodka and then start spitting the pitted cherries into the neck of the bottle having a little more vodka eat more cherries. Okay, now you’ve got the cherries and the vodka going~~eat more cherries and spit them out down the neck of the vodka bottle and wait until they hit bottom~~ have some more vodka and keep looking at the cherries on the bottom. When the bottom of the vodka bottle is completely obliterated by the cherries it’s time to call it quits~~you are now marinating cherries in vodka so put the bottle away for a few days and then drag it out to check on how much vodka you drank while spitting cherries into the bottom of the bottle.
