Veteran actor Sean Connery has refused to give up his favourite red wine even after been diagnosed with a heart condition.
The former James Bond star has been warned to stop drinking alcohol by medics but he refuses to give up, as he believes it is good for his health.
I do drink red wine because of my friend David Murray, who owns two French wine estates. He showed me the evidence that it was good for the health, the Daily Express quoted him as telling Wine Spectator magazine.
I favour Merlots from Chile for their value and I keep a good deal of California wine in my cellar. I have one that cost me USD 2,000 for two cases, which I think is rather steep, he added.

My doctor recommends wine. And, the doctor I used to work for recommended a glass of wine before bed for all the young women who had difficulty conceiving. It worked.

    “It worked.”
Congratulations. Back when it was possible for college age kids to drink, I used to have a couple of beers before exams. It worked also, I would sit back, put my feet on the chair in front of me (if possible), and watch my GPA improve by at least a point, as I stopped making the silly mistakes that were killing me.

I remember someone saying that when she had to write something and it was really bothering her, she'd get up in the morning, have a beer, and then start writing and everything would come out right. Apparently the beer took the edge off the anxiety and loosened her writing inhibitions.

“Hey Sean, maybe, just maybe your doctor has considered the risk/benefit ratio and decided you would be better off sober.”
Red wine is the best medicine for the heart.
I attribute my very high HDL to plenty of red wine.
A liter a day keeps the doctor away.

agreed! best bond ever?.....the ONLY bond! case closed after the first 6. (don’t get me started on the POS ‘never say never again’ either.) not saying the others were not good actors, just that to me sean connery is and will always be james bond. now I think I’ll go have a bottle of red to jump start my ancient ticker...

Personally I can’t see living until I am 105 if I have to give up everything that makes life worthwhile. While I don’t drink wine I would not give it up for a few extra days or months of life that was devoid of pleasure.
