Am I correct in reading the story that the murdered victim was also a drug dealer?

The article makes the police sound incredibly naive and, well, clueless about some of the youth of today and the world of 2009 in which they are living. The police had knowledge of the alleged perpetrator since he was twelve and yet they found it “surprising” that he should be involved in such a crime.

Oh come on...did we find out why he did it and understand the stresses in his life that led to this...what about his childhood. Did he get a papercut that could have caused this? We really need to find out what caused this before throwing him into a jail cell...../sarc. Could not resist...sorry.

In December 2007 when he was 14, Harris was alleged to have taken part, with another youth, in the rape of a teenage girl, So if he was 14, was it still "rape-rape" Whoopi?
Or was he charged with contributing to his own delinquency?
NO cheers, unfortunately.

Nothing unusual about it.
Death penalty should have never been rescinded for such as these.
