Hard to believe, but Friday marks the 50th anniversary of The Twilight Zone, the twisty-turny, highly influential science-fiction anthology series. (Or does it? No, wait, it does.)

Little Girl Lost. It gave me nightmares for years.
Also Bunny Lake is Missing, and the one with Anne Francis as the manniquin.
Thank you. I wasn’t sure if it was TZ or not. But you remember it as well? Was it based on a true story?
Now that you reminded me of that one, that’s probably my favorite.
“An Occurence at Owl Creek Bridge” is probably Bierce’s best known among his Tales of Soldiers and Civilians.
IIRC, the film version was made in France and Rod Serling simply bought it off-the-shelf.
Read the original, late at night:
“The officer”, he reasoned, “will not make that martinet’s error a second time. It is as easy to dodge a volley as a single shot. He has probably already given the command to fire at will. God help me, I cannot hope to avoid them all!”
Yes, it was. It was a Tsunami that was about to hit. All the One Step Beyonds were real events. I don’t remember if all of them were spooky, but the ones I do remember were very good. Especially the one about Abraham Lincoln. You can either buy a DVD with the 50 best of One Step Beyond episodes or can rent them on Netflix. It would be worth your while to watch them.
I would download that but I have a dial-up connection. I do have “Forbidden Planet” one tape tho. Definitely one of the best sci-fi movies of all time.
I like the one where the President of the United States is a black nationalist muslim communist from Kenya and the Speaker of the House is a Botoxed faced red diaper doper baby socialist from San Francisco.
Another good scary series was Thriller hosted by Boris Karloff. My fave on that one was the Grim Reaper with William Shatner about a portrait of the Grim Reaper.
Thanks for the info. I believe I only saw that episode once and I couldn’t have been more than 10 or 11, so it really must have made an impression on me since I can remember quite a bit of detail about it. I do have netflix so I may take your advice.
Yeah he got whack by Talking Doll LOL!
I hate that episode. Too scary!
OMG You Freepers are bad ROFL
Funny...I watched TV as a child in the 60’s...Black and white....I can remember the shows...but I can’t remember what they looked like on TV compared to today.
1960..The Night Of The Meek
"After a derelict Santa Claus is fired on Christmas Eve, he finds a mysterious bag that gives out presents. With this bag he sets out to fulfill his one wish - to see the less fortunate inherit the bounties of Christmas".
And he becomes Santa Claus.

That was my favorite, and definitely most memorable, Twilight Zone episode.
The earwig was a “Night Gallary”
