One of my favorite reality shows turns out to be completely fake. Operation Repo is show on TruTV (formerly CourTV) where a team of reposession agents go around repossessing vehicles for finance companies. Everytime I watch the show, one of the guys (Matt) is always roughing someone and I always wonder how they get away with it.. i know now, it's all FAKE! If the show was real, Matt would violate the Collateral Recovery Act of the State of California as repossesion agents are not allowed to rough people up. Not sure I can watch the show anymore now that I know it's fake.

Operation Repo is a faux reality show where a fictional repossession team from the San Fernando Valley in California enact the repossession of vehicles for finance companies.
Some of the actions shown violate the Collateral Recovery Act of the State of California and are only for dramatic purposes. Repossession agents are prohibited from breaching the peace (ie: fighting and wresting with debtors). However, some of the actors on the team were repossession agents in real life.[1]
Although as a channel, truTV is described as presenting "Reality TV", Operation Repo consists of scripted reenactments where the team is often confronted by actors portraying debtors with prop weapons, prop drugs, and naked women; and with actors portraying police officers with prop weapons and prop squad cars.
Operation Repo began in April 2008, and is based on the Spanish language program, Operacion Repo shown on Telemundo, which began in November 2006.

Does ANYONE admit to actually watching this? This is more hokey than “Dog the Bounty Hunter”. The sister is BUTT UGLY!

Repo men can’t breach the public peace. Operation: Repo is nothing but breaching the public peace.
I should have picked up on it earlier. For example, they go out of their way to have confrontations. Most repo companies have an electric silent lift that can hook onto a vehicle and get away quite often before the debtor ever knows the vehicle is gone. On the show it shows them using such a device but they always stop to hook up chains at the site, thus allowing the debtor to come out fighting.

I have to give them some credit. It’s more interesting than wresting, American Idol, America’s got talent and most of the CBS night time line up.
I heard she has staffers wake her up in the morning, get her out of bed and bring her food......
She's really cooking but I do believe she 'punches up' her Georgia accent for the TV audience. I'd like to hear her off camera. Her on camera accent is like nails on a chalkboard to me. And I think the Georgia accent is one of the nicest Southern accents...y'all.

This past summer, when Fox News was going wall-to-wall with Michael Jackson and Ted Kennedy, I watched a lot of Cops, Operation Repo, Dog Chapman, and the like. This sort of fare beats sitcoms any day.
How about that?
I’ll stick with the crabbers and ice road truckers for “reality TV”.
I was a little bit sadded that while the tracking is real, after they are done with the actual track they do go back and re-film some scenes for dramic purposes
