ET breaks news that acting legend Dennis Hopper has been rushed to a New York hospital.
Sources tell ET that the actor was brought in by ambulance to the emergency room at a Manhattan hospital, wearing an oxygen mask and with numerous tubes visible.
The 73-year-old Hollywood icon has been nominated for an Oscar twice -- for co-writing 1969's 'Easy Rider,' and for acting in 1986's 'Hoosiers.'
Keep checking back here for the latest as this story develops.
“Loved his Nike ads where he played an NFL Referee, Bad things, man.
I wish Nike would have kept that one going. Hopper was the perfect guy for that role.
Prayers for Dennis and his family.
Best 5 minutes of movie making, EVER.
Best wishes Mr. Hopper.
I flipped on Morning Joe just before ten this morning and they said that Dennis Hopper was supposed to be on the show but was not able to (and alluded that he wasn’t well which I took by one or two smirks to mean that perhaps he was perhaps under the influence)
He was supposed to be on MSNBC this morning.
I couldn’t watch for obvious reasons....
I meant just before 9 this morning.
When he asked for a smoke, he knew death was near.
May GOD heal him for he is a good man.

So what you are saying is he is a liberal republican RINO.
Could not agree more. That one is an ALL TIME CLASSIC.
Oh no. Prayers up for Dennis and his family.

The Candy Coated Clown. Brrrrrrrrr!!!
Not good. He’s awesome. Prayers for a full recovery.
[about his 8 days marriage with Michelle Phillips] "The first seven were pretty good"
(candy *colored*, w/ a seriously demented Dean Stockwell)
I found this. The sound quality is iffy. Enjoy!!

I don’t know much about him personally except he was born in Dodge City, KS.
In “Blue Velvet” he quite literally gave me the shivers. One of the best actors ever.
‘Scene with Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tqccyUpnZwA';
Yes, one of the most classic scenes in movie history. Being Italian, I got an extra laugh out of it. Quentin Tarentino wrote the dialogue for that film. It doesn’t get much better than this...
The stress of defending Polanski kusta did him in
Prayers being said.
