CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Two missing sisters from Mooresville have been found safe in Tennessee.
Officials said Keara and Siera Hess are being taken to a local hospital in Tennessee for examination.
The girls were found with their father, Matthew Hess. The three had been missing since last Wednesday.
Authorities issued an Amber Alert for the girls last night, because 12-year-old Keara is pregnant and in need of immediate medical care.
The Iredell County Sheriff's Office says Tennessee authorities contacted them this morning, saying they had found the family. Keara is still pregnant and will be treated by a physician in Tennessee, according to Iredell County officials.
The Amber Alert that was issued for the girls on Tuesday night has been canceled.
Matthew Hess is being held in custody by Tennessee authorities. Iredell County officials say they are asking the district attorney to file charges against Hess for not getting medical care for Keara.
Authorities have been searching for Matthew Hess and the two girls for a week. Hess wrote his estranged wife a note, saying that he was taking Sierra to Lakeshore Middle School last Thursday. The wife became suspicious when 12-year-old Keara didn't make it to her doctor's appointment.
Keara is 8 1/2 months pregnant and needs a medical procedure to protect her child.
That means the girl got pregnant at 11.
Unfortunately, this sounds like a case in which the “father” committed incest.
Speculation.
Key word is Speculation.
And a lot of FReepers are ready to hang him for it.
He may be the daddy. I googled searched. Found nothing to substantiate it. So who knows....
In the mean time.... Hang him?
He does not have custody apparently and they are charging him with that I think.
” Keara is 12 years of age and 8.5 months pregnant?
Seems unlikely.”
______________
There are plenty of 11 year olds, and even 10 year-olds who have started their period. Thankfully, most of them are not sexually active.
I hope and pray that the tide turns and people will again protect children from sexual predation. The “Roman Polanski” in Keara’s life should pay for his crime.
Will not know until the birth...(Living in Raleigh, I’ve heard this on local news since yesterday)
Supposedly she was scheduled for a DNA testing...
“apparently” ?? “I think” ????
More speculation. And I’m not saying you’re wrong. But this we do know:
From the article....
Iredell County officials say they are asking the district attorney to file charges against Hess for not getting medical care for Keara.
That is enough to hold him with at any rate
As a white man, if it turns out that he is the father of his adopted 12-year-old black daughter’s child, he should hope they keep him in solitary confinement indefinitely once he goes to jail, because he probably won’t last too long if the brothers get a hold of him.
Who is “ speculating”?
Can you provide some back up for that?
he may well be the father but shouldn’t we at this point accord him basic rights?
BTW Those pictures sure made the girl look older than 12
This is a sad story on several levels without leaping to conclusions
Mathew Charles Hess
Keara, who is nicknamed “Diamond,” is nine months pregnant and was scheduled to deliver a baby boy by Cesarean section last Thursday because of complications she was having, authorities said.
Both girls were taken to a local hospital as a precaution, Lt. Julie Gibson of the Iredell Sheriff’s Office said. Keara has not given birth to her child, she added.
Iredell authorities are considering filing charges against Matthew Hess for not getting Keara the medical care she needed.
Keara told her mother that a young boy is the baby’s father. However, she never named the father, authorities said.

Nothing other than interviewees on local TV...
Tv Interviews to increase interest.
He may well have raped his adopted daughter. If he did he will be sorry once he gets to prison
but for now he should be given benefit of doubt.
I know nothing about this case. Do you have more info? Did the father take the kids because he thought the mother was unfit to raise his kids? If the mother had the kids in her home and one of them got pregnant, it doesn’t say much about the environment of the home.
I don’t believe I’ve said anything whatsoever about “
convicting” him before the fact...just on what I’ve heard here locally...
I dunno. Maybe he’s the father of the baby? Who knows these days?
How many ways are there?
Besides toilet seats and swimming pools? Gosh, can't think of any....
Cheers!
