and we have one hand tied behind our backs.
Almost game time!!!
Yeah, Joba on the mound. Yankee management's tinkering - "the Joba rules" - has turned that guy into a complete headcase. He better be in the bullpen next year.
I’m having to much fun pissing off some Beck fans...on another thread.
Ready and waiting.
they either need to dump the ‘rules’ next year do the bull pen as you said. He actually was pitching well after the all star break until they started pushing his starts back and cutting his innings.
So you’re trolling?
Damn I can have some fun can’t I? 9 years on this site...I can poke the other inmates once and awhile...can’t I.....:-)
I just think he has the temperment of a short reliever. ...in the mold of Gossage, not Mo Rivera. Volatile. They’re tying to turn him into Clemens, and it’s just not working. But what you said is true — Joba had a pretty good stretch after the AS break.
He has me worried tonite. I have never liked the “joba rule”.
Let’s hope he doesn’t load the bases tonite.
I like the Term Jim Leyland uses for starting pitchers who can pitch out of a jam. He calls them “horses”.
Both teams are going to the playoffs. You decide which team the other teams is the AL DO NOT want to meet in the playuffs, I’ll guarentee you, the Angels want no part of the Red Sox in the first or ANY round, I think it comes back to NY against Boston in the ALCS, the winner taking whatever the NL has left over after their own playoffs for the world championship.
Its interesting that in this decade, the Yankees and Red Sox have no fear of each other. But I think both teams would rather play someone else in the ALCS.
Yeah, Joba invariably gets himself into jams early in games. I suspect we’ll see another pitcher-by-committee tonight — Joba for 3 or 4, then Aceves and/or Mitre in hopes of getting to Mo.
Hey cripplecreek, you a Tigers fan? If so, the ALDS awaits us. ...a rematch of ‘06.
I’ll watch but both teams are basically playing out the schedule and getting ready for the ALDS at this point.
The Yanks would far rather play the Bosox than the Angels in the ALCS -- (far) less travel, and the Angels have been a playoff (and reg season) nemesis for 7 years now. Plus the Yanks have some major unfished biz with Boston -- revenge for '04.
Yep Tiger fan here. We haven’t really faced the Yankees much this year. I think its been mostly central division opponents. Tigers have held the lead since May by as much as 7 games and down to a tie for first with the White Sox for one game. Back up to a 3 game lead now.
I'm betting he'll be with in Chokeland next year as part of a deal to get some good young players from the Pathetics.
Gad, what an embarssment. However, we have something to prove to the Angels as well, it seems.
Here we go!
If you would like to be on the ping list let me know.
This will be a medium volume ping list during the baseball season and a low volume ping list when all life stops in late October.
