In an explosive new book, Mackenzie Phillips says she was drugged and raped by her famous father when she was 19 and began a consensual incestuous affair that lasted a decade. They were all Boomers in spirit. As to Sarah, I don’t think she qualifies. Are you sure she was born between 1946 and 1964? If so, it was right on the cusp.
I worked with Bijoux Phillips on her 'When I Hated Him' video in the late 90s. I witnessed first hand how screwed up Bijoux was....obviously drank too much and did various drugs. In fact, during one production meeting she came into the office, spread her legs and urinated right in the middle of the floor and ordered us to clean it up! So...it was no real surprise to me when... the next night late on set ....she sat down next to me and lit up a cigarette....and she told me her father had sexually abused her and that was why she wrote the song. She said, "that's why I am having my sister come to set tomorrow and sing with me....cause she had it worse....maybe it will help us to sing about it" (you can see flashes of Mackenzie in the video below...in the original director cut there was more Mackenzie...then, MTV 'suggested' they use more stripper girl footage)

And you must not have lived through the Fifties, Sixties, and Seventies to have so little grasp of what it means to be a Baby Boomer — either in spirit or by precise age. I was born in 1946. So, I am a quintessential Baby Boomer. Sometimes it’s good to give thoughtful consideration to what people try to explain to you rather than making ad hominem attacks. Read Balint Vazonyi’s “America’s 30 Years War” and you’ll get the point.
Yes I did live through the fifties, sixties and so on and I know a lot of the time period that you think was led by the children, from me being a street hippie, to me fighting and beating the draft, to me being interned in Washington DC, to me becoming one of the 9.4 million boomers that served in the military, I am truly the "quintessential Baby Boomer" to you probably, although I bet you like to leave out the part about us being the last great warrior generation, I remember those times and I also remember that even at the end of the sixties when you would have been 23 and Sarah Palin would have been five that boomers weren't running anything.
The Mamas and Papas were the generation that went into 1960 ranging in age from 15 to 35, you cannot just rewrite generations and history to serve some little self hatred that you have.

Were Jerry Rubin and Bill Ayers' followers the older generation or the younger generation? The generals of the riots may have been born just before the end of WWII but they grew up with the same post-war Dr. Spock upbringing, wake of "McCarthyism", etc as red diaper doper babies. And their followers WERE baby boomers.
And there were those in the baby boom who did tow the line and didn't work to upset the apple cart. The society baby boomers ushered in was a "counterculture" to that of the generation before it. Maybe it is a case of the "1%ers", it was claimed that 1% of bikers (the so called outlaw biker gangs) gave the other 99% a bad name. Certainly it was more than 1% of the baby boomers who got raised up by the pravda media to hero status that gave the rest of the peers a bad reputation.
Just goofy, in 1965 the oldest boomer was still a teenager and the youngest was a newborn infant, Jerry Rubin was born in the 1930s for crying out loud.
The Beatles and the Bill Ayers were not the “Generals” of the sixties, the “silent generation” born 1925 to 1945 were the Lieutenants and the foot soldiers and Captains of the sixties, the “Generals” were the pre 1925 generations that made up the Congress , the Universities, the Supreme Court, the Newspapers and Television. The Generals” were Lyndon Johnson and Walter Cronkite and and Martin Luther King and Malcolm X, etc.
in 1965 the oldest boomer was 20 years old.
