In an explosive new book, Mackenzie Phillips says she was drugged and raped by her famous father when she was 19 and began a consensual incestuous affair that lasted a decade. Ms Phillips, now 49, reveals their first sexual encounter happened the night before she married Jeff Sessler, a member of the Rolling Stones entourage.

I’ll think about it and get back to you!
After reading her own ‘descriptions’ of the incident(s), it sounds like she was in the habit of ‘blacking out’ a lot.
She doesn’t seem to know ‘when’ it started, nor does she explain why she would continue with it once she realized what was happening.
The most notable thing I got out of all of it, is that she got herself on Oprah, to publicize the release of her book.
Oprah likes books about child-rapers.
She got an abortion, paid for by her father.
I agree. Maybe it did happen. But she just got busted for drugs again. There are people who play the victim 24-7. And it’s convenient to say this after he died. Then again, maybe keeping this secret is why she can’t stay clean. You’re as sick as you are secret.
Bottom line: She was 19 and if this is true, she has to take half the blame. If she was drugged it was her who decided to take the drugs when she was 19.
Incest is not about sex.
Like rape its about control and punishment and resentment.
There being prostitutes since the beginning of time, just about, incest and rape wouldn’t exist if it was about sex.
She never had a chance. And based on Jagger’s words about her, I’d bet her father pimped her out to musicians as well.
You just made me think: I’m sure she gets part of his royalties. She just gave herself a big cut in pay.
I was asking what is RTFA, not challenging you.
I trade posts with you all time and can’t recall every arguing with you.
Just wondered what RTFA much the same as someone would ask what RTFM is.
Oops! Now that I look at my response to you, I see I forgot to add the ? mark.
RTFA? is how it should have read.
A very sad testament to what drugs can do to a family, true or not. Her experimentation with drugs began with him shooting her up. Is it any wonder she couldn’t hold a job, with the example set by her father? All the drugs and easy lifestyle, the swapping of partners etc I don’t know if it’s true or not - only 2 people know for sure and one of them is dead. But it wouldn’t be the first time it’s happened.
If her accusations are true, she may have faced even larger cuts in pay if she said that he had raped her when she was a child/minor because she would be accusing him of rape. Wouldn’t her mother be in charge of his estate and move to sue her - seize the royalties of the book since McKenzie can’t prove what happened to her when she was, say, 11, and her own mother would be the only witness? I suspect that the charges are true and that the perv had been assaulting her when she was younger and her mother doesn’t want people to wonder why she didn’t intervene and her mother doesn’t want the cut in pay either.
(sound of indrawn breath). How COULD you? Naughty boy! Being tempted by an older woman, no less. You realize now, she’d be on the sex offender registry, eh?
If it’s true -and I don’t know either way - do you really think Michelle Phillips is going to say “Yeah, I knew all about it?” He left his wife (Mackenzie’s mother) for Michelle when she was 18. Michelle had an affair with the other guy in band (Dennis?). She was married top ennis Hopper for 8 days. Michelle and John divorced in 1970, would she even have been around when this was allegedly going on in 1979?
There’s only 2 people who know for sure.
LOL...she was *married* to *Dennis* Hopper. And I thought I proofed it!
Poor homely McKenzie, jealous of her beautiful mother and trying a little "payback"...Her mother and stepmother both reply to this accusation:In a conversation with Hollywood Reporter columnist Roger Friedman, Michelle Phillips said, "John was a bad parent, and a drug addict. But [expletive deleted] his daughter? If she thinks it's true, why isn't she with a good psychiatrist on a couch? I think it's unconscionable that Oprah would let her do her show. I have every reason to believe it's untrue. Oprah should be more judicious about who she has on her show."
On the broadcast, Winfrey read a statement from Genevieve Waite, John Phillips' wife at the time of the alleged abuse and Mackenzie's stepmother that said he was "incapable, no matter how drunk or drugged he was, of having such a relationship with his own child."
I simply do not believe McKenzie.
I hope this isn't one of those repressed memories. Those so went out in the 90's.
Remember Key parties in the seventies.
All the adults have a party and get drunk then throw their car keys into a pot and everyone picks a key and they have sex with the person whose key they pick?
In many of those houses were sleeping children who got visited, sometimes over and over.
Discovered these poor souls in my work.
I think this quote from her mother “ If she thinks it’s true, why isn’t she with a good psychiatrist on a couch? “
is really...really...warped. Hard for me to articulate why I think it’s warped other than to say that this ‘mother’ is saying girls raped by their fathers get ‘good’ psychiastrists. It is a sort of ‘get over it!’ comment unnatural to women, in my opinion.
‘My daughter doesn’t have a good psychiatrist so that means she is lying about being raped by her father’.......weird..........
See, this is why SHUT UP AND SING is such an important command.
Gag.
I always loved “California Dreaming,” especially when I too was far away from home.
Now it’s ruined.
Nope, she’s not credible. Just reading this makes me feel like I need a shower. Personal stuff, Obama’s UN speech and (finally) this has made today one I wish I’d missed.
