Perhaps we should downsize BOR’s ratings too. This egoist thinks he has it going on....sink BOR on Fox and just don’t watch him!

Panorama

You can email this to oreilly@foxnews.com and ask BO to find an expert to count the crowd since his estimate is too low based on the evidence.

If he can find "body language" experts he can find experts to give us an *accurate* estimate of the crowd at the rally.

How many people are in this picture? Here's a little work sheet I made:

The blue lines are the limits of the panorama. Note that at the front right of the panorama you can see a barricade. The white line is a Google Earth "ruler" 360m long. I drew the red line as a rough limit to the crowd. I think you can approximate the area of the crowd by a 340m by 500m, less 100m by 200m for the pool. That makes 150,000 m2, and generously allowing 1 person/m2, that's 150,000 people.

I say generously, because this or any crowd thins out substantially away from the core, but this is not noticeable when viewed across the top of the crowd. I think 75k is a very realistic estimate.

O'Rielly know's he's going to get his butt kicked rating-wise by Glenn Beck, can't be giving him credit...

Since when does the fire department have anything to do with crowd control?

Actually, they have lots of control.

Have you ever walked into a restaurant, or theater, or auditorium, or other public place, and seen a sign that says "Max. Occupancy nnn People?"

Whom do you think enforces those capacity regulations? Those are often fire safety codes. Remember what happened at that nightclub in Rhode Island a few years ago during a Great White concert?

Say, the DC fire department (that reported 60,000-75,000 attendance) wouldn’t be a Union shop, would it?

^^^
Probably the statement came from the same firehouse that had a truck go by with firemen flipping us the bird when we were protesting Gore in 2000.

My guess is that BOR is angling for an Obama interview, especially after today's blitz of the other networks. I used to be a big fan, now I can't stand the sight of him.
Arrogant blowhard. And a total a@@ kisser! He also has a serious problem with women, that is so glaringly obvious that it's actually painful to watch.

He does have a sad prurient interest. It is to me amazing that a guy who has been accused of sexual harrassment can not hide this side of him better. And it is really pathetic that he crusades against child sex abuse to introduce yet another sexual topics into his show.

While most have backed off of the 1.5 or 1.2 million estimates they still agree that it probably exceeded a half million.

From: http://tpmdc.talkingpointsmemo.com/2009/09/freedomworks-cuts-estimate-for-crowd-at-its-912-rally-by-one-half.php

FreedomWorks, the main organizers of the Tea Party event in Washington this past weekend, has dramatically lowered its estimate for the size of the crowd at the event from 1.5 million, a number the group now concedes was a mistake, to between 600,000 and 800,000 people — though this is still substantially more than the tens of thousands that most mainstream media outlets have estimated, and which FreedomWorks wholeheartedly rejects.

The politically charged issue of crowd size is complicated by the fact that there is no official estimate — not from the Park Service, not from the D.C. Police, nor the Fire Department, etc. In fact, a Fire Department spokesman that I talked to told me that whoever had given a figure of 60,000-70,000 to ABC News had not been authorized to do so.

Yet O’Reilly insists on using a bogus 75,000 figure from the D.C. Police even after they deny the figure. Some have reported that the D.C.Police no longer give estimates, having discontinued the practice after being sued by someone who didn’t like their numbers.

If O’Reilly is unaware of these more reliable reports, then he and his staff are either lazy or incompetent. Shame!
