With pancreatic cancer, in the majority of cases - it’s only a matter of when it gets you, not if.
The poison is designed to kill cells with rapid growth phases, which it does.
Unfortunately our bodies have several types of cells we have to replace on a regular basis so they also have rapid growth phases.
It is a sword that cuts both ways.
And left untreated, with cancer you WILL die.
I will be cancer free for 18 years on November 26th (Thanksgiving Day!)
BTW, my blood type changed from O+ to O-!
Hugs your way.
My lovely sister in law had Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma and it spread to her pancreas. She went through radiation and chemo but didn't make it to the bone marrow transplant. It won. Ignorant people don't understand, eating “healthy foods” and loading up with vitamins and minerals will NOT stop pancreatic cancer of Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma that is AGGRESSIVE and unleashed in the body. This is a particularly hideous cancer.
Yep. My mom did just fine with the radiation and doing great, but the first round of chemo nearly killed her and she never regained her strength from that and the second round did her in. And they sure get pushy about the chemo, too. She was still in the hospital trying to recover from that first round of chemo when the chemo doctors kept calling the house saying she needed to get in for her next chemo treatment! My step dad asked them if it would ok for her to get out of the hospital first?
I do think the type and location of the cancer might make a difference but by and large, I’d pass on the chemo. jmo
Thank you, nmh.
She went very gracefully, in a hospital bed in the living room of her house at Tahoe, gazing out of the huge picture window at her lovely garden. It’s what she wanted.
Suzanne Somers, M.D., PhD.
I know a couple people in medicine who think chemo is very primitive. Poison is used to kill the bad stuff, but it often compromises the good. That can lead to a host of complications, even death.
Nutrition and “flushing toxins” would not have cured Patrick Swayze of pancreatic cancer. I think I am going to go with the advice of physicians in cancer research over Suzanne Sommers.
I like Suzanne Somers. When she had cancer she refused the chemo. Here’s a little snippet of what she says:
SS: When I was diagnosed with cancer, some of my doctors recommended chemotherapy for my after care, and other doctors said it was not necessary for my specific type of cancer. I thought the concept of poisoning my body and ruining my immune system was crazy. It turns out that the chemo medicine I was offered has since been proven ineffective. But thats another story.
I heard about Iscador from researching the Rudolph Steiner Clinics in Europe. They have been using Iscador in lieu of chemotherapy since the 1920s and getting better results with no side effects. It works by building up your immune system which made and makes a lot more sense to me than ruining my immune system with chemical poisoning.
I am not telling you what to do; I am just telling you what I did. Every case is different and you have to make your own choice. I am very glad I made the choice I did. I am strong and healthy and I never get sick; and my quality of life is superb.
Suzanne Somers is doing no one any favors. I wonder if she even considers that Patrick Swayze may have made an informed, knowledgeable decision based upon conversations with his oncologist?
“What are the options? What traditional and alternative treatments are available? What are the odds? What are the risks? What can I expect in terms of side effects? How will it affect my quality of life?” are all questions that should be asked.
“What does Suzanne Somers think?” should not be on the list.
CHemo is a great blessing to me.
ANd it saves lives. ANd extends lives. ANd I have not had a horrid time of it.
Ignorance abounds about cancer and chemo.
I see it as a gift.
Daddy had non hodgkins lymphoma in bone marrow and all lymph nodes about 12 years ago. 6 months of chemo got rid of it. I think all cancers are different, all people are different in attitude and health at the time of diagnosis - you just have to make a decision that is best for you.
[[What do Freepers think of Chemo? My father went downhill fast after his second round of chemo. Made me wonder? ]]
Yes Chemo sucks- but people would most likely have died anyways- I’ve known quite a few people who’s lives were saved because of chemo- some were helped several times infact- Swayze had a bad cancer, and the facts are clear- whtout treatment, there was no way he was goign to survive- he at least had a chance with treatment- but some cases of cancer are beyond help- His may have been given more time with hte chemo-
Not sure I’d opt for chemo- but hwo knows- I haven’t had to make that descision yet
I thought blood types were determined by genetics?
I have a friend who was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer with "spots" on her brain and liver in 1990. She chose chemo...also,
She chose to have 2 knee replacements three years later against medical advice---no elective surgery for five years after cancer.
She's still going strong today...even after getting a lung fungus from bats in a cave in Belize, which she says is the worst thing she's had, including chemo.
Chemo is indeed a poison that kills cancer cells - and slows it’s progression...unfortunately it kills the healthy cells too. It’s a balancing act. Cancer cells grow at an alarming rate. My brother was diagnosed with Stage 4 Lung cancer in January 04 and was given 6 months to live. After a month or so of getting various “leaks” under control in his body, draining fluids collecting around his heart etc... They put him on Chemo. He was able to cross country with his Harley friends...kind of a “last ride”... after his second round. That ride was really hard on him - but he wanted to do it and had a GREAT time with his lifelong buddies. He had 2 additional rounds following that. My brother told me he actually felt great for a few days following chemo because within the treatment - steroids were administered (which give a sense of energy). In the end - the cancer finally engulfed his lungs and he couldn’t breath. Very hard to watch. He lived exactly 6 months from diagnosis to death, just like the doctor said.
BTW... Swayze and my brother had something in common. Even after a death sentence diagnosis - they continued smoking cigs while receiving cancer treatment. Smoke til you die. For some it’s not reasonable - but they both lived their lives as they wished.
Suzanne is a health nut...kudos to her for taking care of herself. Patrick was not exactly a health nut, was he? No amount of nutritional support could have saved a man unwilling to give up what was killing him in the first place. Swayze also lived a bit longer than he was supposed to live following the Stage 4 diagnosis. Stage 4 is a death sentence. All chemo does is prolong life a bit at that point.
EEE is correct.
No amount of plant food, wholistic medicine, meditating, sitting under triangles, ozone, etc is going to stop let alone cure cancer of the exocrine pancreas. Survival rates of 5 years is only about 4%.
