Dan Brown has done it again.

In 2003, "The Da Vinci" code author released the must-read novel of the year.

Six years later, his sequel "The Lost Symbol" sold more than one million copies in the U.S., Canada and the U.K. on its first day, shattering sales records in adult fiction books and forcing the publisher to rush-print an additional 600,000 copies to meet the demand.

Is it more anti-catholic rhetoric?

I do not mind anti-catholic rhetoric on principle, but Brown's work was simply over the top outrageous.

Fiendish actually.

Mercy, more anti-Christ writings? Why do people believe this malarky, let alone waste their money on such garbage?

And some of the WORST writing I have ever read in my life.

I’ve been known, from time to time to hang out at Fan Fiction. It’s worse than some of the writing there.

I started reading ‘The DaVinci Code.’ What a snooze-fest! And from what I’ve heard, the movie was much worse, LOL!

Save the franchise, Tom Hanks! LOL!

I’d almost rather read those vampire books that are all the rage with the teens right now...

I'm almost done and all I can say is way overrated. It reads like a random generated version of the DiVinci Code, crossed with The Secret, crossed with National Treasure. Predictable plot, cut and paste characters and themes. Ok for a dime store novel, but not the great work some claim.

I have not read it and will not read in. However my understanding is

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

The God of Israel, Christianity, and Islam is the ancient Egyptian God, (Amun-)RA

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT

I think that the Moslems may be unhappy with this.

Not exactly, although early in the book there is a hint that it may be this, but it isn’t and it takes a different path (another stereotypical accusation and misunderstanding of Masonic lore they copy and paste in the book..)

I am about 50 pages into it. Does a good job so far balancing modern Masons. Not sure where it will go but Langston seems to be between a rock and a hard place.

Finished book this morning. It was OK, somewhat strange but worth the read.
