A team of scientists based at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden have made a "revolutionary" discovery about how hydrocarbon is formed, learning that animal and plant fossils are not necessary to form crude oil.
The discovery, the scientists say, means that the world will never run out of crude oil.

About 10 years ago, I remember reading in the WSJ that oil wells thought empty were filling up again.

And what are all these “petroleum-free” cars going to run on? Electricity? Imagine, 100,000,000 cars plugged into battery chargers every night and at the office parking lot. Let’s see now, how many windmills would we need...oh, and wind too, we’d need lots of wind. Goes without saying.

We’ll never run out, but we won’t be allowed to get it either (until we get rid of the eco-fascists).

Back in college (mining/oil/engineering) there was the crazy professor that didn’t think the old dinosaurs and swamp muck was enough to account for all the oil. I forget what he thought it came from, but he did think it was buried in a geometric matrix of some sort. Not sure if he ever made anything out of his matrix idea, but even way back then he made sense that there was not enough prehistoric biomass to account for all of the oil and gas.

Yep! It only took 1245 Gallons of Diesel Fuel to run the Compressors long enough to compress the Ton of Garbage into a Barrel of Crude Oil( equal to 42 Gallons)!......:-)

The Obamessiah touched his staff to the rock, and oil gushed forth.

However, he forgot to say "In the Name of the Gord," (Al, that is) and has been banished forever from the Land of ACORN.

Eventually we will need to move away from petroleum but it must be done gradually.

Why, if we won't run out of it?

Old News for the Dinosaur News Media.
Even (I), who am not a Petroleum Engineer, have known this fact for almost a decade now.
Aerobic and Anaerobic oil production is a well known fact. It is just deep and we require new drilling technology for the plentiful Anaerobic type - which is going to be exceedingly plentiful.
