I was talking to my daughter about how her first grade son handled Zero's talk. She lives in a very liberal area of the country. On the day of the speech, grandson comes home, and his mom asks him if he watched the talk. He said, "No, we watched 'Captain Underpants.'" Captain Underpants is all about bathroom humor, from what I understand.

My daughter told me this morning that grandson came home from school yesterday and said that they watched Zero's speech. Daughter asked how it went. He said, "I don't know, there wasn't any sound." LOL!!! Technical difficulty or patriotic teacher. I don't know, but it was too funny not to share.

The teacher obviously realized that with a Seventh Level Advanced Charm spell, there is a verbal componant for it to work.

That IS priceless. Yes, teacher is either patriotic, or someone may have prayed that the technology would fail (which I’ve been known to do!) At least the teacher can truthfully report, “Yes, we WATCHED the president speak.” I should think it a type of psychological torture for little first graders to be subjected to such tripe at their age when they OUGHT to be learning their three R’s.

Couldn’t agree with you more. I guess “Captain Underpants” deals with topics such as flatulence and wedgies. Zero’s talk was about the same thing as flatulence. Thus, the kids should have gotten credit for the first video. LOL!

My oldest child didn't get to see it because they were scheduled for a computer lab test. lol

I asked my kindergartener about it and predictably she said, "Huh??"
