Elton John's hopes of becoming an adoptive father to a 14-month-old boy were ruled out last night.

Ukraine family minister Yuriy Pavlenko declared that gay couples were judged not suitable to adopt children under his country's law.

At the same time, Mr Pavlenko stressed there must be an age gap of no more than 45 years between a child and its adoptive parents.

It’s called “common sense”.

I guess you have to go half way around the world to find it now.

What’s to prevent a child adopted by a homosexual couple from becoming nothing more than a sex toy?

Yup. Good job by the Ukraine. I would not let Lord Elton adopt a hamster.

Eastern Europe may save Western Europe again someday. They saved the West from Islam in 1683 AD at the gates of Vienna. The Poles smashed the Turks lines. Vienna had also been held by Austrians and Germans plus some norther Italians and Russians plus others.

The more I hear from the Ukraine the more I want to move there. Free market, flat tax, sane social policies.

I really wish these old rich washed up celebrities would do like normal people when they get old and lonely...go to the humane society and get a dog or cat. Seriously. Every time I hear these types of stories I can't help but think "just get a dog".

Note to the next rich self absorbed celebrity type that gets a wild hair and starts stalking the orphanages:

Leave the kids alone. They aren't there for YOUR amusement. Just get a dog.

Elton John adopt a hamster? Wouldn’t be a paper towel tube involved, would there?

It is unfortunate that not enough married couples open their homes to these orphans. The world would be a much better place if every child was living in a happy two parent home.
