Update on my Mother-in-Law, Mary Kunze:
After 16 days she has been moved to Intermediate Care from ICU. She had a trach installed yesterday and is gradually being taken off the respirator. I visited yesterday and she was alert, lucid and in good spirits. She continues to have right-side paralysis and is on IV nourishment. She is to be evaluated tomorrow and we should know more about the prognosis.

A few years ago my F-I-L suffered a stroke. The only lingering effects are R side reduced function (leg and arm).
He spent many weeks in hospital and rehab. He set a goal for himself that he would once again sit behind the wheel and drive. He conquered that goal... kinda. He uses his L foot to lift his R foot of the accelerator. Pretty scary being a passenger, but even at almost 90, he’s pretty independent and his priorities are driving himself to his lady-friend’s house each day.
Just more “Can Do” attitude from a WWII Sub Sailor.
