All Snow Leopard users, it's time to click Software Update under the Black Apple Menu...

For those who haven't heard (like me, who was at sea coming back from Alaska), Apple released the first update to Snow Leopard yesterday. So, it's past time to click the Black Apple and choose Software Update...PING!

Mac Ping!
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.

This produced my first problem ever updating a Mac (from 10.4 + updates, to 10.5 + updates, to 10.6). It updated, then tried to restart but hung. I hard-powered off, turned it on, and it installed the update (again?), and restarted again. Now all’s well.
Of course if that’s the worst that happens I’m kind of happy.

Didn’t they just release Snow Leopard?

Installed without issue.
Did a clean install of SL while you were cruising, Swordmaker. System was much faster and except for the new version of Logic Express 9, all is perfect on my machine. LE9 needs an update though. BADLY. Naturally, 99% of the music work I do on my Macbook requires LE9.

Installed Snow Leopard about 8 hours ago. No probs so far.

Updates done. I had a problem with SL when I installed it, but I should have known what it was - they did warn that some video formats required the old version of Quick Time player, and that by default SL didn't install it. The Apple store loaded QT 7 for me, and I'm happy. You wasted your time going to Alaska, tho - the FReeper convention was in DC. A good time was had by all, and there was an amazing attendance on the mall on Saturday. You knew something was afoot when you first got on the Metro - or tried to, and found the train to be already full.
