Updates done. I had a problem with SL when I installed it, but I should have known what it was - they did warn that some video formats required the old version of Quick Time player, and that by default SL didn't install it. The Apple store loaded QT 7 for me, and I'm happy.

You wasted your time going to Alaska, tho - the FReeper convention was in DC. A good time was had by all, and there was an amazing attendance on the mall on Saturday. You knew something was afoot when you first got on the Metro - or tried to, and found the train to be already full.

I have a HP Photosmart C4480 all-in-one printer/copier/scanner. Primarily, of course, it's a printer - but I occasionally want to scan something (such as the Banquet Program for the FR National Convention, in this case). And I found that my scanner software is now broken. This seems to be a known problem, and someone online suggested that uninstalling the HP software would allow the Snow Leopard drivers to take over and allow the scanner to run.

I'd just as soon not lose my print functionality. What do you think?
