Wildlife officers with the Colorado Division of Wildlife are searching for a bear involved in an attack Thursday night in Aspen. A man ...was attacked in his home by a bear shortly after 8 p.m.
the homeowner's three dogs began barking loudly in the ground floor of the house... When the homeowner went downstairs to check on the dogs, he was confronted by a large, black bear.
The victim of this attack is being treated at an area hospital.

Heh heh. Live with envirowackos and see what happens. Good thing he didn’t shoot the bear or he’d be in a prison hospital.
Former Vice President Dick Cheney was seen in the area earlier in the week feeding the bears and passing out pamphlets.
Another bear attack .
This being Aspen, was the homeowner euthanized for annoying the bear?
Slugs for the shot gun can be useful.
This must be bogus, so-called bear experts say black bear attacks on humans are very rare. /sarc
Secret: Bears only attack people with guns ONCE...
I alternate 00Buck and slugs. The 45-70 has 405 gr hollow points. I think the 458 Win Mag would finish wiping out my ears so it is locked away. The dogs do a good job of warning me. The other night I smelt something like hot dishwater and something burnt. The bear must have been just outside my window.
Where are you?
OH MY! “A large black bear”. Where is the ACLU? This is pure racism. They would not have acted that way if the bear had not been a black bear. LOL
In my HD 12ga I have the first two rounds Brenneke Slugs followed by four 3-inch 00 Buck. In the side saddle are 6 slugs. I may change out to all slugs for fall and spring with 00 buck in the side saddle.
Where our mountain property is, a fellow homeowner inadvertently left his garage door open and a bear got into the freezer in there. The bear started showing up every day and may have even broke into the house once when the owners (thankfully) weren’t there.
The owner called the Wildlife authorities to report he had a nuisance bear. They pretty much blew him off and didn’t responde.
On the 3rd or 4th day in a row that the bear showed up the homeowner finally shot it. He called the Wildlife authorities and said “You know that bear I called you about, you can come and get his carcass now” They were there within 30 minutes.
They darned near arrested him. They said the autopsy (done on site) showed he shot the bear in the back when the bear was “clearly running away”. He said to the wildlife people that the bear had already showed up every day for three days and there was every reason to think it’d show up a 4th day..and he was tired of it. Plus, he’d reported it and they hadn’t done anything.
I think that last finally saved him from arrest but it was touch and go for a while as to whether he’d be charged.
A friend told me recently that a woman in Ouray CO was found killed and eaten by bears. She’d been feeding them and was warned by the wildlife authorities to STOP doing that. Apparently she continued, or by that time the bears were already conditioned to come around for food anyway.
Bears can smell food up to 5 miles away I’ve been told...
