In order that we might all raise the level of discourse and expand our language abilities, here is the daily post of "Word for the Day".
a group of nine
Example sentence:
Immediately following the show, viewers will be able to call or text in their votes for their favorite among this ennead of remaining contestants.
Did you know?
Since ancient times, various groups of people have considered nine to be a very special and sacred number. Legends and literature have long characterized groups of nine as having a special, in some cases magical, significance. Ancient Egyptians organized their gods into groups of nine; even today, their principal group of gods (headed by sun god Re-Atum) is called the "Great Ennead of Heliopolis." The "Ennead" English speakers use in that name traces to "ennea," the Greek word for "nine." "Ennead" is also used generally to refer to other groups of ancient gods. Furthermore, it is the name given to six sets of nine treatises by Greek philosopher Plotinus that were collected and organized by his 3rd-century disciple, Porphyry.
Rules: Everyone must leave a post using the Word for the Day in a sentence.
The sentence must, in some way, relate to the news of the day.
The Review threads are linked for your edification. ;-)

I’m happily rained out of work for the rest of the day-I need the money, but we need the rain much more-and that word is hard to put in a poem, but I’ll give it a go-
With all of Obama’s flipping-
His obfuscation and his tricks
He seems somewhat apprehensive
When it comes to the gang of six
If that is so, then light a fire
Under them and give this reason-
If you don’t defeat Obamascare
This is your last Washington season
Maybe we should add three more-
Make the gang an ennead for luck
So they might stand a bit firmer
And not think of passing the buck
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!
This is the case where the monsters tortured and killed a couple of college kids. Race looked like a factor so they moved the case out of Knoxville and to Nashville. Crimes this horrible have nothing to do with race and everything to do with evil.
Yes, i was just talking in the abstract, how judges live with themselves in criminal cases when the people that are before them go on to commit more heinous acts in the future, i do not know.
Ugh! She looks as old as I do, and I have a daughter her age. That is just as much bad surgical enhancement as it is sun damage. I have olive skin, so I don’t wear heavy duty sunscreen like SPF 8, etc, but I do wear a hat in the sun-I don’t live at Malibu, either. I thought she looked hard when she was young, but now she looks really rode hard and put up wet...
That’s the thing. This guy served time for carjacking and got out early for good behavior(??) then went and did it again and tortured and killed people. And the carjacking is what he wants to suppress but he’ll allow the robbery? What is wrong with this judge?
yes, she has an odd looking bite and the collagen lips and cat-like eye pull of plastic surgery. her skin is horrible. i am 10 years older and my skin is nothing like that. As someone on the thread said, most moisturizers and make up have sunscreen in them. i don’t use liquid or powder makeup myself, but i moisturize the hell out of my skin AM and PM and i know it has at least some degree of sunscreen in it.
well as i read that, the judge considered whether the prior crimes fit within the admissibility standards [they are not given and as i said would vary] and determined the robbery did but not the carjacking. they do have to follow the standards and not be swayed by emotions, but like i said, predelictions of the judge enters into those considerations. i don’t recall much about criminal law, but one thing i do remember is that they talked about a continuum and where you fall on it, are you more afraid of the cops or the perps. your spot on that continuum will determine how you look at criminal cases.
There are obviously many more than nine ways to wish you well on your special anniversaries, but not just ennead do...
On this day of three-three’s, good things happen this way as well-
Happy B-day, J & Dixie !
Happy 25th, SG!
I went and looked at the label on the stuff I put on my face and neck AM and PM, and sure enough, it is SPF 15. Anderson must have cheek implants, got her eyes lifted too tight, or maybe both-her face looks misshapen somehow.
Thank you!
I found a site with hundreds of neat house plans of every type, including a bunch of log homes, and I’ve been taking ideas from the ones I like. I just now found one with a study that has a bay window with a seat off the master bedroom that I’m going to draw into my plan and see if it works there-back soon...
what a fun project!!!
You pump gas don’t you?
That's the Henry Gates Memorial Continuum, isn't it?
(Not to be confused with the Continuum Transfunctioner, a mysterious and powerful device.)
Damn handsome for a man of thirty...
have to. i don’t live in the pantywaist fag state of NJ.
Suppose so, though i hadnt heard of henry gates 29 years ago when i was a first year law student.
Wow! I heard that slap all the way down here!
