Good morning, CM.

Our leaves are turning and falling.

What a great way to start the day with your video link. It proves my point... the simpler we make our lives the happier we will be.

Got it from my friend who is 99 and turns 100 in 9 months.

I take her advice sometimes.

ALRIGHT! I have to clean the hen house, put more pine straw in the nests, gather the eggs, us ‘farm folks’ never get a break, work, work, work.

Good Morning all: I haven't been posting but have read the thread on several occasions. Have been keeping in touch with Lysie, Jemian and Dolly. Very busy here but SO happy!

Found this article and thought it interesting and wanted to share.

Obama's competence?

I am surrounded by people who think O is the messiah. I tell them they have the first part right (MESS)!!!

Of course, I live in "the people's republik of Oregon" - that explains some, huh?

I decided to cook today anyway.

Smoked Ribs and Split Chickens.

Have the meats seasoned and the grill getting hot.

Timing is key here...I’ll throw the meat on at 1230....around 3:30 i’ll take the chicken off and check the heat for the ribs..throw some hot coals on the grill and finish off the ribs.

When the first game ends we’ll eat.

Clean up time, espresso and wait for the 7 pm game.

Its overcast and cool here today which isn’t making me too happy but.....

What are you guys doing today?

We are going watch some of the games, bbq a pork roast, work on the chicken coop and enjoy each moment. Sarah is home, too. :-)

What happened to the beer-can chicken???

I made pulled pork because I just like it so much and I get these Italian (Amoroso) rolls that just go so great with it. No homemade BBQ sauce, though, too much work. I also made a cole slaw with saffron that I got yesterday in a spice shop in Chestnut Hill (somebody gave me a gift cert for B-day and I finally used it).

Oh -- and I made Creme Brulee this morning...;-))

Went to Shadows on the Hudson in Poughkeepsie the other night for dinner. They had a creme Brulee that was sooooooooooo light it melted in your mouth...accented by my cappuccino and Sambuca and I was almost in heaven.

I didn’t do the beer can chicken because I don’t have the beer.

I marinated the split chicken in a Spanish Mojo marinade, some cilantro and a few italian spices...
