Women have long complained that their faces are often the last thing men look at and now a scientific study has proved them right.
Researchers found that virtually half 47 per cent of men first glance at a womans chest. A third of the so-called first fixations are on the waist and hips, while fewer than 20 per cent look at the face.
Not only are breasts often the first thing men look at, they also glance at them for longer than any other body part, the experts discovered.
Its thought that the reason might be evolutionary, as women with larger chests and slim waists such as opera singer Katherine Jenkins have higher levels of the female hormone oestrogen, indicating greater fertility.
But the researchers conceded that there could be a more prosaic explanation. Men may be looking more often at the breasts because they are simply aesthetically pleasing, regardless of the size, they said.
The scientists recorded which areas men looked at first, the number of times they looked, and how long their gaze lasted, using cameras and mirrors to measure tiny eye movements.
It also found that men began to gaze at the components of the hourglass figure within 0.2 seconds.

Scientist are also working on a theory to explain how they are continually awarded funding for studies that require no further study.
from my perspective, i couldn't disagree more! ;)
What was the topic......Wow.
But you know somebody somewhere is tired of listening to that mouth.
I forgot as soon as I hit the “post” button. Something about scientists and 47% look at 27%...or something like that.
what face?
Tiny eye movements? Ok...
What a titillating thread. Looks like we’ve been busted.
I might fund my own study, which will prove that beer is wet.
#1 is not guilty.
Well, bear in mind that in science, even if something is well-known, if you want to talk about it, you need to have the data to show it, if for no other reason than many things which “everybody knows” turn out to be bunk. For about a bajillion examples, study any econ primer or textbook. Many people believe things about how an economy works which are totally false. Minimum wage laws *don’t* help low-skilled workers, trade deficits are meaningless, economies don’t suffer when money is sent overseas, free trade between nations actually makes nations wealthier and not poorer, etc.
I think its a subconscious throwback to the good feelings we felt when we were nursed as infants from our mothers’ breasts. It goes away in your toddler years, then comes roaring back for the rest of your life once you hit puberty. God created Eve on the sixth day, and it was good!
I’m a leg man.
Me too.
Gravity is not an enemy of a nice pair of legs.
