Apple Inc. is expected to unveil an updated line of iPods at an event next week as it aims to boost slowing demand for the music players.
The Cupertino, Calif., company issued invitations Monday to media and analysts for a "special event" in San Francisco on Sept. 9 that Apple indicated would be related to its iPod music players. The email invitation showed the dancing silhouette of a person with an iPod and the words: "It's only rock and roll, but we like it".

Geezz, louise, enough is enough!
I have about 8, I love them all, but I'm not gonna buy anymore.
Anymore anything, now that I think about it.
I'm tired of being blamed as a "consumer" for not "consumin'" and bringin' down the economy, somehow I don't 'tink it's my fault?
I have only one which is all I need. It’s called the ‘Rushpod’. I use it to blast Rush directly into my brain.
The new iPods will contain software that only allows users t play songs personally approved by Steve Jobs.
The new Zunes already do the same thing for songs approved by Bill Gates.
It’s just that nobody’s buying them anyway, so no big deal.

Oh, no! I'm going to have to buy more now! ;-)
Some of the next iPods will contain cell phone ready capabilities on any carrier and will sell for $29.95?
As far as a music player goes, yes it’s enough already.
Thing is: it’s not just about playing music. Or videos. Or games.
The iPod Touch platform is much more (yeesh, I sound so ditzy). Mine has supplanted my notebook (i.e.: main) computer by about 90% - and it wouldn’t take much to push that to 95%, or even 100%.
Only if your carrier is GSM... :P
True but my post wasn’t...
