I just heard on Fox that today is a special day in history in that the last episode of "Gilligan's Island" was broadcast on this day in 1967. And it's been downhill for American culture ever since.

“Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale - a tale of a fateful trip.

It started from this tropic port aboard this tiny ship...”

“Skipperrrrr.....”

That was one fun show.

I'll agree with that!

Ginger, no Mary Ann....no Ginger....I still can't make up my mind so I'll take both, please!

If you could choose who to be shipwrecked with, the Professor could make amazing things from coconuts and sticks.

I always thought it was a terrible show but then again I did watch it.

I think it was more to see Mary Ann in those shorts than anything else. Also the idea of surviving on a desert island always seems to awaken some sort of hidden fantasy.

Gilligan’s Island like many sitcoms was just plain dumb. It’s only saving grace was that it was funny, genuinely funny. The premise was stupid but the cast that they managed to corral was both unique and clever. The writing was pretty good over all and I will take Maryann over Ginger any day of the week.

Our family special day in history is that today’s the second anniversary of burying dear old Dad....and to the day, the six month anniversary of burying Mom.

lol...I met Alan Hale in his restaurant, "The Lobster Tail" on La Cieniga Dr. when I was about 16.

I asked him about "Ginger", he said "son, that' a lot of woman, you couldn't' handle her"

Needless to say, she's been a fantasy ever since.

True Story

Dobie Gillis was a great and unusual show. It also had a stunning beauty, (Tuesday Weld) who may have been even prettier than Mary Ann tho I still think Dawn Wells had the hottest body on TV.
