Laurie is a VERY funny and talented individual and this is one of his funnier songs. It was funny to learn that the producer of "House" wanted an American to play Gregory House but his staff kept sending him foreigners. When he saw Laurie's audition (in which he spoke with his American accent) he went on a rant with his staff about how good it was to finally see an American actor and that this guy was perfect, exactly what he was looking for. After a brief silence, the staff then informed him that Laurie is in fact British. Too funny!
For those of you who didn't know him before "House," check him out on YouTube by following some of the links to other videos on the page. You almost won't recognize him in "Blackadder." VERY funny stuff.
As to the song, it seems to me that this is quite possibly Liberalism's perfect theme song. "The answer is obvious...all we have to do is...(unintelligible)..." Perfect! They either don't actually have a solution or they don't want to publicly admit to the solution they have but they want everyone else to know just how wonderful and smart they are for having thought of it.

I haven’t seen House, but I respect Mr. Laurie for his brilliant portrayal of Bertie Wooster in Jeeves and Wooster. It is rare to read a book first, see the character portrayed after having read it, and being convinced that the fellow you saw was the same fellow you read. A fine and funny actor. Righto! Pip-pip! What?!

This is from “A bit of Fry and Laurie”, a show from way back when. One of the funniest series ever.

He was on the "Friends" episode when Rachel flies to London to stop Ross' wedding. Hugh was the passenger next to Rachel and told her she was, in fact, on a break.
Funny guy and "House" is one of the very few shows I make a point to watch. Eager to see how the good doctor deals with the asylum...

I never actually saw an episode of the show but I have seen many, many clips from it. He and Stephen Fry are/were hysterical together. I should have known that Freepers knew him when! Thank heaven!

He is too funny!
Another departure for him...watch him in Sense & Sensibility...the version w/Kate Winslet.

Bob Dylan is not a liberal.
I have no clue about the rest of the subject.

BTT for a very young & fresh-faced Hugh Laurie. I watched House religiously in the first couple of seasons - just the most brilliantly written series around. Don't watch much TV anymore, but I'm sure gonna check out
the 4-disc DVD set of Fry&Laurie if this clip is representative.
Thanks for the chuckle.
