Last night Zero Hedge obtained some interesting documents from the CDC web site. They contain blank 'forced quarantine' orders from Iowa and Florida regarding novel H1N1 -- including quarantine to a 'secure detention center'-- which appear to be recent -- dated April 2009....

From the article...
Perhaps now is the time to educate ourselves rather than remaining blissfully ignorant. Perhaps now is the time to confront our government officials with questions. How many states have drawn up plans like those above? Do the authorities plan on initiating forced quarantines? Do the authorities plan on initiating mandatory vaccinations?
I'm not sure how something is leaked from a publicly-available website.
Also, the documents are pretty inocuous - the Iowa doc was discussed in some deal over the last couple of days, and it is meant to deal with those who break home quarantine or who cannot maintain a home quarantine.
How much force are they authorized to use to force compliance, up to and including death??
Funny how the CDC does not have the guts to talk like this about aids patients, but let a slightly above average flu go around.....
AIDS is not airborne like the flu. You have to engage in clearly-risky behavior in almost all cases to get AIDS.
Yea, but aids is always 100% fatal, the flu is not.
The Department has determined that it is necessary to quarantine your movement to a specific facility to prevent further spread of this disease. The Department has determined that quarantine in your home and other less restrictive alternatives are not acceptable because [insert the reason home quarantine is not acceptable, the person violated a previously issued home quarantine order, the person does not have an appropriate home setting conducive to home quarantine, etc.]
The way I read it, this is meant for two cases - when someone violates home quarantine, or when they cannot maintain home quarantine (such as a boarding house).
Quarantine has been around for some time - a couple of folks on that thread discussed their quarantine experiences from decades ago.
Once again, I'm not going to get AIDS if I pass an AIDS patient on the street.
Also, AIDS is no longer 100 percent fatal - Magic Johnson has been alive for what, 20 or so years since he announced he has AIDS?
“Great voice out of the temple saying to the
seven angels [or messages], Go your ways, and
pour out the vials [bowls] of the wrath of God
upon the earth.”
Revelation 16:1
People are over reacting. Im chairman of a county board of health in Iowa. These policies are passed and enacted at the county level (which is a good thing as it is easier to hold people accountable at lower levels of government). Such policies were passed as part of our preparation for flu pandemic. It gives us tools in a worst case scenario. Our policy requires us to provide care for anyone quarantined so it would be a huge undertaking and not something we would want to do unless absolutely necessary. At this point, there is no reason to enact mandatory quarantines for H1N1. We are not even close.

These documents are state documents that have nothing to do with Obama.
Damn, I am going to lose sleep over that one.
I guess you don’t want the occasional annoying fact to get in the way of your posts.
I thought he was HIV positive, and did not have full-blown AIDS. There is a difference.
Interesting....
I don’t doubt to what extent this administration would go to use a public health situation for politcal purposes, but I also wonder when anything is “leaked” is it to just cause fear and anxiety? We are being bombarded from all directions with creepy issues that may be more psychological warfare than real.
Anything that hints of quarantine and “rounding up” has the potential to cause major backlash. This administration is getting a good dose of backlash lately.
Not really and thanks for pointing that out. I’ll be sure and work on it.
OK, he has been HIV-positive for, what, 20 years, without getting AIDS?
Is there an opportunity...
Could there be nuance here...
Might it be possible...
for the government to use vaccinations as a way to
herd (cull) dissenters and Christians out of the
mainstream? Those who are vaccinated, get a “mark”
and those who don’t? Well, you know. Of course
who would want to buy or trade from someone who has
deliberatly jeopardized his neighbor by not taking
the the mark ... er ... innoculation?
Yeah, I know. Way too obvious.
