Where would you move to if it became necessary? (Vanity)

Here is my question: If you felt it was necessary to leave our America to avoid the politics, where would you go? I had an interesting conservation with a friend today and he made the statement that he was considering researching for a new home. Since I have never given thought to the subject, I was completely stumped. I have no idea where I would go.

Good to hear and read a different perspective from someone in the ‘know’. Thanks for the detailed reply.

Only limited solar options here. Have plenty of wood.

I’d love to find a cave and take my ammo and spam with me along with twinkies(suggested by another freeper who’s name I forgot) bottled water and kool aid. Would really prefer Snapple. Any cave in any state...anyone got any suggestions on caves?

Stay and fight!

We had a guest at one of our UROC meetings in the late 60s that was from the Ukraine that told us that she had escaped communism and had the United States to run to and then stated that we had better see the handrighting on the wall that communism was creeping into our government here and that WE HAD NOWHERE TO RUN TO!!!!!!

We have a wood stove. Several neighbors have put in the wood furnaces that heat water and their homes. They love them.

Actually, it was a romantic stopover after a trip to Germany. My wife loves Iceland and I’d only visited once before so we decided to take a day and visit the Blue Lagoon. Very strange place but also intriguing. You simply cannot believe that twisted, ruined landscape. It is other-worldly.

I am sure you are correct I have always wanted to go there out of curiosity. We have made many business trips to Europe I never thought about stopping in Iceland. Darn it, my husband is retired now and I doubt I could convince him to go there. What language do Icelanders speak? Any fishing, hunting?

Icelandic is a sort of ancient Danish. The fishing is supposed to be superb, but I don’t know about hunting.
