The Monster charged with kidnapping Jaycee Lee Dugard and holding her captive in his backyard for 18 years had sick "sexual fantasies" about little girls for decades.
Phillip Garrido admitted that starting in 1968 he hung around schools and pleasured himself while "watching young females."
"I have done it by the side of schools, grammar schools and high schools, in my own car," Garrido said in court testimony obtained Tuesday by The Daily News.
Asked how old these girls were, Garrido replied, "From 7 to 10."
Dugard was just 11 when prosecutors say Garrido and his wife, Nancy, abducted her in 1991 as she was walking to her school bus stop in South Lake Tahoe, Calif.
The victim was just 14 when she gave birth to the first of two girls she had by Garrido. Garrido, 58, and his wife now face 29 felony counts in connection with Dugard's abduction. But his dark desires were first revealed in 1977 while on trial for kidnapping and brutally raping Katherine Callaway Hall a year earlier.
In her court testimony, Hall said Garrido "talked about Jesus" as he drove her from Lake Tahoe, Calif., across the Nevada state line into Reno where he raped her repeatedly in a mini-storage locker.
"I had this fantasy that was driving me to do this, inside of me, something that was making me want to do it without - no way to stop it," Garrido told the court.
Hall, who was 25 at the time, was rescued by a Reno cop, and Garrido was eventually sentenced to 50 years to life.
A court-appointed psychiatrist testified that Garrido was a drug abuser who believed that "LSD increases his sexual powers" and described his intelligence as "average."
But after Garrido was released after serving just a dozen years in Leavenworth Prison in 1988, he allegedly turned Dugard into a sex slave and father two daughters by her - right under the noses of parole officers who were supposed to monitoring his every move.
Now, in addition to trying to figure out how Garrido allegedly got away with his heinous crimes, the FBI and Contra Costa Sheriff's Department are investigating whether the pervert played any part in the murders of eight local prostitutes.
Garrido's chilling testimony emerged a day after Hall and his first wife, Christine Murphy, broke their silence and expressed amazement that he was ever let out of jail.
"He took a safety pin and went after my eyes," Murphy told "Inside Edition."
Garrido is also a suspect in the unsolved kidnappings of two girls, ages 9 and 13, including one who resembles Dugard.
Known to his neighbors as "Creepy Phil," Garrido kept Dugard and her girls hidden in tents behind his bungalow in Antioch, Calif.
Investigators expanded their search to a neighbor's house, where they found a bone fragment that was sent to a lab to determine if it was human.
Meanwhile, Dugard, her daughters Starlet and Angel, were trying - with the help of shrinks - to reconnect with her mother. All three have been kept out of the public eye since they were rescued last week.
Methinks this guy won’t be ‘lasting’ in the pokey for long. He’ll be ‘taken out’...in a big, black bag.
The Lesson that will never be learned : these guys can’t be rehabilitated. Their first trip to prison should be their last trip to prison. Never let them out of jail!!!
Hopefully this monster is going to hang himself with his mouth! I just hope he doesn’t get off with an insanity ples.
Where’s Dexter when you need him?
I see his parole officers were doing a bang-up job of monitoring him. Amazing, you might have to get out from behind your desk and go do your job. Most of them only deal with parolees during office visits and the occasion police interaction.
It just seems unlikely that given this victim had absolutely no access to a doctor, she only would have found herself pregnant twice in 19 years. I hope that "bone fragment" isn't what I fear it might be.
Anybody seen the story that the two girls attended local birthday parties?
It's virtually indisputable that if it weren't for this UC Berkley female officer, and her mother's intuition, this freak would still be doing unspeakable things to these three defenseless victims.
The worst part is he didn't put up a fight at the time of apprehension, saving the tax payers millions in trial and confinement costs.
Agreed.
According to the several paroled inmates I had worked with, the two types of criminals that didn’t survive long in prison were:
1) RATS
2) Rapists especially child rapists
Every gang and every segment of the prison population loathes these two types.
If there is any jailhouse ‘justice’ Garrido will get receive it.
Remember, Jeffery Dahmer was killed in prison also.
The irony is that had he been passing out flyers to prosecute Bush & Cheney, or Free Mumia, the police officer prolly wouldn’t have paid any attention at all.
But he was engaging in a politically incorrect act - passing out RELIGIOUS material! - and THAT sort of behavior must be stopped!
Somebody get a rope.
And the sooner, the better.
