The environuts are pushing for everyone to get into smart cars and smaller electric cars in general. I give you Jefferson Parrish, LA last week.
After

Indeed. By the way, I saw a crash test between a Smart Car and Toyota Camry at 30mph. The Smart Car was tossed like a rag doll.
This is what was in the email where the pix didn’t show up PING.
I’ve always called them “dumb” cars. Why would you want to drive a sardine can on an interstate? Much too risky...
Uh uh....after we did the wee-wee thing, we saw a sole gray haired lady hop in and head southeast....A couple of hours later we saw her again at a gas station.
I would not be comfy trying to pass (or be passed BY) a big rig in one of those light little thingies.......our Camry is light enough, thank you.
I can tell you from personal experience: I had a 1974 Dodge Maxivan, and was at a red light. A Volkswagen smashed into me from behind. I wasn’t sure, but thought a person had bumped the van, so I got out. The VW was literally crumpled up to the passenger area. My back bumper had a very, very slight dent. :)
I drove a Smart car for 2.5 years. It was a love-hate affair. I came to fear everyday on the autobahn. Any wind...would push the car at 60mph to one side or another. There were no spare tires in the trunk, so you had to call for service. The tank barely held 5 gallons of gas...so you refilled every five days. The AC unit never cooled the interior. The front window was always foggy unless you left the passenger window down an inch or two. Changing the headlights meant an hour of work because only a 5-year old kid’s hand could reach in and swap the bulbs. The glass roof was a heat magnet in the summer. And the thing just never had any pick-up and go. Oh yeah, and it got 55 miles per gallon...which is the only super positive about it.
We call them the not-so-smart car.
Inside a disposable car is NOT the place to be when an accident occurs.
UNSAFE AT ANY SPEED.
Can he at least get a Darwin award?
when driving in snow.....remember....always yield the right of way to the bigger vehicle.....

Must've put groceries in the back seat.
....A car that can sit up like a dog? Up boy!...up!
I hear that when you open the door, circus music plays.
Ouch.
That one is a VW. If that’s the one that made the rounds a few months back it is a VW SUV type thing and the driver was cut in half.
small SUV?
rear mounted spare?
definitely not a Smart
Smart has 3 lug wheels as pointed out above
Neat!
Nary a peep from Ralphie Nader or his gang of thieves.
Yes......but she was getting GREAT gas mileage right up to the last moment!
