For a little fun and relaxation with all the wonderful, smart, well informed Freepers who enjoy College Football...
This is a fun activity for College Football fans- I have set up the game using the Confidence Points and the Point Spread to make it more challenging.
It makes the games more interesting to watch when you are playing the pick'em game----

I like the sentiment. Go ‘Noles! UF is loaded for bear this year (again) though...(sigh)
I remember. And they handily beat Va Tech for the championship. I bought the commemorative Tallahassee Democrat paper/T-shirt for that one, and I still have the “2000 National Champs” sweatshirt. Those were the good old days...
Your team...I think the only thing that could possibly derail a 2nd straight championship is themselves. And Meyer and Tebow are too good at leading to let that happen. But we’ll see...
Come join bump......
Any ideas! My picks are up at the site.
Thanks,
TS
confidence points are how you score points every week. IU vs Nebraska, for example... I say IU will route the Cornstalkers so I put whatever the max # of confidence points on them. They whoop them by 1 point or by 35 points, doesn’t matter, but I score that many CPs as a result of my picking the winner.... and so on with the other games
Your picks are only visible to others after the games begin, so........
Remember we are using the point spread-—this is critical. You must cover the spread to get the points you place on each game.
The confidence points are what you place on each game, if you are correct—you get those points.
Put the highest points on the games you are most confident in-—lowest on the least.
Remember to check in right before game day because the point spread can change right up until the day before each game.
For example-—put the highest points on, say—Florida over Ch So, a very easy pick.
A low confidence pick would be, say-—Alabama -21 over Maryland—that is a lot of points, so I would put a low confidence bet.You can take MD and the 21 points or take Alabama and give the 21 points, and so on.
Hope that helps ;)
Thanks,
TS
No problem!
It is a lot of fun to play this game, it makes watching all the games interesting now.
The point spread really is the killer. Some games will go right down to the last play because of it. Without the spread it would be too easy—the craziest things happen.
I remember one game last year where USC was up and had the spread covered—the oppossing team kicked a FG with seconds to go and I had 21 confidence points in the bag, BUT NO—a penalty was called on the FG. They then scored a TD instead of rekicking and the 21 points were gone.....ungh.
Have FUN!
