Bono really hasn’t been political - his whole thing is raising cash for hunger in Africa. He actually praised Bush on committing cash to Africa.

Clooney had a nasty quote about troops heading to Iraq, hoping that we had enough bodybags (for our troops).

If you want to find examples of activism on both sides of the political aisle, Jon Voigt has taken to writing a column (which often is the brought online to FR for discussion). Ronald Reagan put out this still relevant record back in 1961 when he had not yet entered politics (and seemed reluctant to be making a political appeal as an actor).
