Blagojevich writes in “The Governor” that Emanuel spoke with him about whether it was possible to appoint a “placeholder” to the congressional seat Emanuel was giving up so that he could win back the seat in 2010 and continue his efforts to become speaker some day. …

Nothing is stopping the ballerina fairy from running for Congress in 2010. Just resign your job and run. What is so complicated about that? if you believe you can win... run. If you don't believe you can win, run anyway because we are sick of looking at your ugly face!

Blagojevich says he told Emanuel he didn’t think he could do that and the House vacancy would have to be filled by special election. But Emanuel reportedly told him “his lawyers thought there was a way.”

Never has someone been appointed to a House seat but leave it to a Chicago democrat not to even give a hint of respect for the Constitution.

If I bet on who was the stupid one in this story, my money would be on Blago not Rahm. Rahm would know that vacancies in the House of Representatives can be filled only by election, not appointment. The only reason Senate vacancies can be filled by appointment (in some states) is that the 17th Amendment permits State legislators to allow temporary appointments.

Rahm and Axelrod hatched the Obama thing and I think they were as shocked as anyone that the empty suit actually won. Obama is a clueless puppet. As this administration, The failed Obama Administration© is sinking fast, it doesn't surprise me that the young and talented are fleeing for safer harbors. Rahm will use Obama like he uses everyone... a steppingstone to more power and money. Don't flame me here, because I'm NOT going soft.... but, Obama will be the big loser. He will be left with the legacy of failure while Rahm, David and all the rest have moved on to greener and much more lucrative pastures... Obama existed since birth to be used like a cheap prop by the powerful communist and leftist establishment. A token that gave them access to the Federal treasury, the banks, the auto companies and, hopefully not,... the health care system (which will make Rahm’s brother a billionaire)... What a world...

Makes sense to me. Resign in 2 years, get ready for the 2012 election by hitching onto Hillary’s bandwagon. I truly believe Obama will be a one-term President because he will have destroyed the party by then.

Who has flown the coop so far?

Its still too early. Watch for the rats to jump in Spring of 2010 as nomination papers are drawn. We are only nine months into the nightmare. If health care fails, its over for Obama (but a new day in America!). The Rats will jump in droves if it fails...

It's Blagoevich saying this. If he doesn't have something in writing or on tape or some email or some sworn testimony or some other evidence there's no reason to believe a word of it.

If he actually thought of giving the Senatorial seat to Lisa Madigan there was either a political quid pro quo involved or he was hoping to sidetrack her running against him for governor.

Shut up Blago. Put on your oragne jumpsuit and go to prison already.

And we knew that Rahm wanted a 'placeholder' ya moron. That's only been in the Chicago news 93,574,563,2575,253 times since you were busted for pimping.

Honest ta God---I just hate it when Rahm and Dr Zeke are dissed. We all know The Wonder Boys are "totally perfect." Take Rahm:

RAHM WAS CLINTON ADVISOR, WALL STREET MULTI-MILLIONAIRE, A CONGRESSMAN, WHITE HOUSE COS
AND RAHM WAS NOT EVEN VOTED "MOST LIKELY TO SUCCEED."

TIMELINE

1992 Emanuel's knowledge of the top donors in the country, and his rapport with potential donors within the Jewish community helped Clinton amass a then-unheard-of sum of $72 million which nailed his victory.

1993 Emanuel became a senior advisor to Clinton from 1993 to 1998. Emanuel was initially Assistant to the President for Political Affairs and then Senior Advisor to the President for Policy and Strategy. He was a leading strategist in the unsuccessful White House efforts to institute universal healthcare and many other Clinton initiatives.

1993 One of Rahm's proudest moments was an event that touched his political sensibilities and his personal ties to Israel: the 1993 Rose Garden signing ceremony after the Oslo Accords between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization. Emanuel directed the details of the ceremony, down to the choreography of the famous handshake between Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin and PLO leader Yasser Arafat."

1998 While official Washington was in the throes of the Monica Lewinsky scandal, Rahm Emanuel, a senior political aide to Pres Bill Clinton, ventured out to an elegant restaurant in Dupont Circle for something of a job interview, The New York Times’s Michael Luo writes.

John Simpson, who ran the Chicago office of the investment banking boutique Wasserstein Perella & Company, had flown to Washington to meet with Mr. Emanuel at the behest of Mr. Simpson’s boss, Bruce Wasserstein, a major Democratic donor and renowned Wall Street dealmaker who had gotten to know Mr. Emanuel. “I had this idea that this could work and that it had upside,” Mr. Wasserstein, now chairman and chief executive of Lazard, the investment bank, told The Times. “It worked out better than I could have hoped.” And better than Mr. Emanuel could have imagined as well.

Over the course of a three-hour-plus dinner, Mr. Simpson and Mr. Emanuel discussed how they might work together. Shortly afterward, Mr. Emanuel accepted an offer, nudging him down what has by now become a well-trodden gilded path out of politics and into the lucrative world of business.

1998 Rahm "The Perfect" resigned his position as an advisor to Bill Clinton, to become a Wall Street investment banker with Wasserstein Perella, (now Dresdner Kleinwort), where he worked until 2002.

1999 Just like that (snaps fingers)----in 1999, Rahm became managing director at their Chicago office. According to Congressional disclosures, Emanuel made $16.2 million in his 2 1/2 year stint as a Wasserstein Perella banker AND he probably paid all his taxes.

Amazingly, Rahm "The Perfect" became a multi-millioniare overnight----and he wasn't even voted "Most Likely To Succeed."

At Wasserstein Perella, Rahm worked on eight deals, including the acquisition by Commonwealth Edison of Peco Energy and the purchase by GTCR Golder Rauner of the SecurityLink home security unit from SBC.

2002 Rahm "The Perfect" then ran for Congress (successfully, OF COURSE). Luckily (/snic) members of the securities and investment industry became Rahm's biggest backers, donating more than $1.5M up to 2002, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

2006 Rahm also leaned heavily upon the financial industry as 2006 Dem Congressional Campaign Committee Chair. Financial industry donors contributed more than $5.8M to the Dem committee (behind only retirees).

Remember, the point of Obama bringing Rahm in was so that "tolerant and compassionate bi-partisan Rahm" could work constructively w/ Congress to pass an ambitious agenda.......

Here's tolerant Rahm expressing his feelings for America on inauguration day.

=========================================

SURPRISE Brother Zeke is JUST as PERFECT

Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, was tapped as White House health care policy advisor (thank God Rahm will "help" Ezekiel handle Medicare/Aid billions)

Rahm's brother, Dr. Emanuel, has received numerous awards....election to the Institute of Medicine (IOM) of the National Academy of Science and the Association of American Physicians. Hippocrates Magazine selected him as Doctor of the Year in Ethics.....the AMA-Burroughs Welcome Leadership Award, the Public Service Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the John Mendelsohn Award from the MD Anderson Cancer Center, and a Fulbright Scholarship (which he declined). Dr. Emanuel served on President Clinton’s Health Care Task Force, the National Bioethics Advisory Commission (NBAC), and on the bioethics panel of the Pan-American Healthcare Organization. Dr. Emanuel has been a visiting professor at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, UCLA, the Brin Professor at Johns Hopkins Medical School, and the Kovitz Professor at Stanford Medical School.

OMG---would you believe there's ANOTHER perfect Emanuel brother.....in Hollywood?

Cybersecurity czar has left.

Judd Gregg, Commerce Sec. nominee.

More, but that’s two off the top of my head.

LEAN TEAM: Fewer than half of Obama top appointees in place... http://www.drudgereport.com ^
FR Posted on Sunday, August 23, 2009 6:11:15 PM by kcvl

Of more than 500 senior policymaking positions requiring Senate confirmation, just 43 percent have been filled so far — a reflection of a White House that grew more cautious after several nominations blew up last spring, a Senate that is intensively investigating nominees and a legislative agenda that has consumed both.

The sluggish pace has kept Mr. Obama from having his own people enacting programs central to his mission. He is trying to fix the financial markets but does not have an assistant treasury secretary for financial markets.

He is spending more money on transportation than anyone since Dwight D. Eisenhower but does not have his own inspector general watching how the dollars are used. He is fighting two wars but does not have an Army secretary.

He sent Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton to Africa to talk about international development but does not have anyone running the Agency for International Development. He has invited major powers to a summit on nuclear nonproliferation but does not have an assistant secretary of state for nonproliferation. He has vowed to improve government efficiency but does not have the chief performance officer he promised.--- snip ---

Mr. Obama is far enough along in his presidency that some early appointees are already leaving even before the last of the first round have assumed their posts. Among those who have left already is the person charged with filling the empty offices, Donald H. Gips, who quit as presidential personnel director to go to South Africa as ambassador last month.

The consequences can be felt in small ways and large — from the extra work for appointees on the job to the slowdown of policy reviews and development. For example, Mr. Obama’s promised cybersecurity initiative to improve coordination among government agencies and the private sector has stalled while he looks for someone to lead it.
