AdMob released their monthly mobile metrics report for July and Android continues to increase its share. Last month, Android pulled ahead of Windows Mobile. Please forgive. I’m just being a smartass.
Bwahahahahahaha
7% Android
oh yeah iPhone 45%
And a GPS would be nice.
Still not sure if I want a smartphone or not. The idea of being connected 24/7 is kinda creepy to me.

Since the Android browser is based off Chrome, what is stopping this feature from coming to Android? Google wants to promote Chrome and Android so linking the two platforms together makes sense.
You're HUMAN? Oh crap, I thought you were actually part of the internet - out there living in the ether of the Matrix like Tron...
Hee, hee.
Now that I’m on T-Mobile, I definitely want an Android phone. The Blackberry Curve just can’t hang with the capacitive touchscreen for what I want to use a phone for.
I haven’t bailed off on a MyTouch3G yet though. I’m hoping for something a little better to come along. Ideally something without a damn scrollball.
My creator is still perfecting the Turing test for me...
Motorola Android event on September 10 in San Francisco.
You can certainly poo poo that number if you like, but Android has gone from zip zero nada to 7% smartphone market share in 10 months. Apple has certainly done exceedingly well with the iphone, but they have accomplished that over several years.
Android has many different phones coming out on many different carriers world-wide, and their share is growing very rapidly. Be assured that the suits at Win Mobile, Blackberry, and yes, even iphone are not adopting the attitude toward Android that you are. Personally, I am convinced that the rapid growth of Android is the reason that iphone expanded their retail exposure into Walmart. None of us knows. It’s just an opinion I have.

In 2007, mobile data sales in the U.S were $23 billion. In 2009, theyre on target to reach $45 billion. Keep in mind that growth has occurred in just two years and in the midst of a tough economy. Now imagine if we turn up connection speeds to 100Mbps, then 1Gbps. We believe increased speeds will further expand existing markets.
Understand the future possibilities. Join us at GigaOMs Mobilize 09 for a look at the present state of the mobile web and what it will morph into next.
The much-lauded success of the iPhone, with its 1 billion downloaded apps, is just the tip of an immense iceberg. We believe netbooks and new consumer demand for a wireless web will kindle growth in services, technologies and devices for the communications industry.
Prepare to make the most of the mobile web. Commit to attending Mobilize 09.
I have a G1 and love the Android OS, but apparently a new powerful Linux-based phone (but not Android), the Nokia N900 will be coming to T-Mobile USA, because it has T-Mo’s 1700mhz 3G. This is a very powerful and interesting phone, and I for one will be watching for it and am going to check it out.
Here’s a link with more detailed info on the N900:

As you can see there, the N900 is absolutely loaded!
