I was going to ask if you were following all of this smartphone activity....I need a cellphone is why I am here.

And a GPS would be nice.

Kinda. I'm starting to think about a new phone. My Motorola is 3-4 years old, and is on its second battery.

Still not sure if I want a smartphone or not. The idea of being connected 24/7 is kinda creepy to me.

Yes, but...from Part 2 ...link at #3:

Since the Android browser is based off Chrome, what is stopping this feature from coming to Android? Google wants to promote Chrome and Android so linking the two platforms together makes sense.

You're HUMAN? Oh crap, I thought you were actually part of the internet - out there living in the ether of the Matrix like Tron...

Hee, hee.

Now that I’m on T-Mobile, I definitely want an Android phone. The Blackberry Curve just can’t hang with the capacitive touchscreen for what I want to use a phone for.

I haven’t bailed off on a MyTouch3G yet though. I’m hoping for something a little better to come along. Ideally something without a damn scrollball.

That site doesn't have a comprehensive list at all of Android phones coming out. There are a number of Android phones they don't mention. The best two sites for that IMHO are the following:

www.androidandme.com

www.phandroid.com

You can certainly poo poo that number if you like, but Android has gone from zip zero nada to 7% smartphone market share in 10 months. Apple has certainly done exceedingly well with the iphone, but they have accomplished that over several years.

Android has many different phones coming out on many different carriers world-wide, and their share is growing very rapidly. Be assured that the suits at Win Mobile, Blackberry, and yes, even iphone are not adopting the attitude toward Android that you are. Personally, I am convinced that the rapid growth of Android is the reason that iphone expanded their retail exposure into Walmart. None of us knows. It’s just an opinion I have.

I have a G1 and love the Android OS, but apparently a new powerful Linux-based phone (but not Android), the Nokia N900 will be coming to T-Mobile USA, because it has T-Mo’s 1700mhz 3G. This is a very powerful and interesting phone, and I for one will be watching for it and am going to check it out.

Here’s a link with more detailed info on the N900:
http://www.forum.nokia.com/devices/N900
As you can see there, the N900 is absolutely loaded!

Here’s some general info on Maemo (be sure to scroll down to the terminal screenshot):
http://flors.wordpress.com/2009/08/2...comes-maemo-5/

Here’s the only review I’ve seen so far, but with lotsa good info and plenty of screenshots, photos:
http://www.mobile-review.com/review/...-n900-en.shtml

If you Google Nokia N900, you can find even more info.
