Prediction: Obamacare gets pulled; Cap&Trade becomes the focus (Vanity)

Posted on 08/28/2009 6:32:52 AM PDT by GOPsterinMA

To save both his face and his presidency, Barry 0 pulls deathcare (for now) and focuses on getting Cap&Trade passed. The sheeple will go along with that much easier, even though it's nearly as bad, at least in terms in financial impact on the USA.

The Dems don't want a repeat of 1994, because then he's out in 2012. Barry 0 can't adjust like Clinton appeared to do; Barry's more arrogant and Marxist.

They will pass Cap and Tax while we are fighting Healthcare. However, the Dims will ram Healthcare through, and then ram Amnesty and gun control through too.

wishful thinking. Obamacare is do or die for them and they know it. And they have the numbers.

We just need to make it as painful as possible for them to vote for this.

Then 2010 and 2012 will be bloodbaths for the Dems.

He can’t “pull” Obamacare all by himself. He would have to convince the vermin in Congress, who are heavily invested, to “pull” it for him. Cap-and-trade is in serious trouble in the Senate. They don’t have the votes. We need to do whatever it takes to kill them both.

No way. There will be a healthcare bill. Obama and the Dems must have one to placate their base. The only thing that remains to be seen is what is in the bill. It could be a watered down, less ambitious version that could garner bipartisan support or it could be the radical Left version with Obama and the Dems risking their political future. They have overwhelming control of Congress. They call the tune.

IMO there will be an energy bill without cap and trade, which won't pass in the Senate.

Cap & Tax is already under fire. Forget Socialism, this is all about Fascism and has to be presented as such.

No doubt he’ll need Nancy and Harry to pull it. I just see him and Rahm knowing if they pass this abortion, they are gone in 2012. That is if there are elections in 2010 and 2012.

I can see them pulling a C.Y.A. on the deathcare. For now.

Cap&Trade needs to die as well!

Don’t forget about Jeffrey Immelt and GE. They are so heavily invested in this administration for the cap ‘n hoax scheme to pass, they will do anything. You can bet there is major opposition research being conducted by the administration and GE and some other companies to get dirt on any pub senator in a blue state to force them out in order to get a rat appointed by a governor or elected in a special election.

Harry has cover, because the Senate version is still in the Finance Committee. Pelosi would have to get Waxman, Rangel, Dingell, etc. to agree to pull HR 3200, which they have introduced in the House. That would be entertaining, indeed, would call for bowls of popcorn.

Exactly. We’re just as mad about cap and trade and we have no problem making up new signs.

“They will pass Cap and Tax...”

Not a chance. The Senate isn’t interested. Unlike all of the noobs in the House, the Senate remembers how much the BTU cost those who voted for it. And, this is the body that voted against Kyoto 99-1 (or some such margin).

They will pass some health care legislation. It will, in the end, be meaningless. Probably it will take the provisions for a national health care records database already in the Stimulus and tout that as new legislation, but that is just a guess.

It sure would. I see two ways for this to go on the Dem side as of now:

1. They say screw it and pass it. Then they get thrown out in ‘10 and ‘12. Jimmy Carter becomes the happiest man in America.
2. They pull it for another day. Rahm, Axelrod, Soros can see the more the people hear about it, the less they like it. It gets pulled and Barry 0 runs in 2012 promising it again.

If Obamacare gets pulled and an all effort is made to ram cap and trade through the Senate, the same wrath of the American people will just be focused on another 1,000 page bill that was unread, will bust the budget and will hit everyday Americans in the pocket book. Barry might succeed in getting cap and tax rammed through, but it will doom the Democrats in 2012 when people start getting the bill for this POS. Republicans can just start running with a promise of a total repeal of cap and trade.

Folks, I hate to be a pessimist but voter memory in this country is HORRIBLE. 2012 is a long time away, and there will be some shiny new penny by then to divert their attention. Remember, the media will manage to pull the GOP into it, and that will also muddy up the waters enough to keep the status quo. I WISH Americans had sense enough to pull the trigger in 2012, but I don’t think they will. That is why the Democrats are determined to ram this baby through because they understand the apathy and lack of focus in Joe Voter’s mind.
