America is the only place still using the bogus classification “caucasian” for white people.

It makes me feel quaintly old-fashioned in an Apartheid sort of way when I mention "caucasians" over seas. *grin* What's the deal with "non-white hispanics" as well? Why do we need to separate them?

For that matter, why should American “European” Hispanics (of Spanish heritage) get preferential treatment over other Americans of European ancestry?

The whole "caucasian" thing ANNOYS the hell out of me. Anytime I am called a caucasian I ask the fool in question if I look like I'm from Tblisi. They then continue to look at me with a rather dumbfounded expression.

Its rooted in junk science folks. Lets get rid of "caucasian" and use "white" or "European American" instead.
