One poster on this Free Republic site suggested that DU posters be given end of life counseling. I agree, in addition they should be offered a discount on a bus ticket to the Oregon death doctors. Of course a list of such doctors would be given to the “DUmmies.” In fact, we could offer despondent liberals “Death Discounts!” such discounts including rides in colorful buses right to the door of the “Death Doctor” of their choice. Offer them a full glossy of “The Divine One” as the last thing they will ever see on this earth. The marketing possibilities are endless.

I see that the disappointed children still do not understand what is happening. They still have the leader they elected. He is still an ideologue with Alinsky training and Chicago tactics. I'm sure Obama would be willing to go over the cliff to try to pass single payer health care.

But Obama doesn't run things. He wasn't in the Senate long enough to understand how the Hill works. Congresscritters are survivalists first. They won't vote for anything that will endanger their cushy seats or their precious majority.

Rahm understands how things work in Washington. He knows when the battle can't be won outright. He will give up enough to let the Republicans claim victory and still move the ball a fair ways towards the ultimate goal. Obama knows he can't run things without Rahm and the others. He'll defer to his handlers.

I expect health care to drop to the back burner as soon as congress gets back in session and the townhalls end. Then some weak compromise bill will get passed as quietly as possible. All the talking heads will move on to the Next Big Thing.

And the DUmmies will serve up another kool aide kegger and dance naked around their Obama Idol once again.

Just my 2 cents: Don’t count this guy and his socialist plans for health care out, not by a long shot. As Rush and many others have said, part of the playbook is incrementalism: just take a slice at a time. What’s more, we’ve all learned by now that with the lousy bunch in Congress and the various special interests, these people have a hundred ways to deceive and can slip the same crappy schemes into legislation in the middle of the night along with all their earmarks and other theft from the taxpayers.

In short VIGILANCE, VIGILANCE, VIGILANCE. I pray that the “sleeping giant” doesn’t fall right back to sleep.
