No time for Constitution

Barack Obama's mouthpiece, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs, says his boss doesn't have any time to waste on questions about his constitutional eligibility for the highest office in the land.

He's got too many important things to do – like taking away your right to choose the doctor of your choice and seek the kind of medical care you and your doctor believe is appropriate, fighting the phantom problem of "global warming," compiling databases on dissenters, funding ACORN with your taxpayer dollars, conducting intrusive Census interrogations about the most intimate details of your life, devising the next trillion-dollar stimulus program, etc.

While he may not have the time or inclination to simply release the birth certificate that would either confirm or repudiate his claim to constitutional eligibility, he does, however, have the money to spend fighting more than a dozen lawsuits demanding he live up to the spirit of his oath of office.

Per Article 2, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution, the President must be a natural born citizen. Having a father who is a Kenyan national is NOT a natural born citizen.

It probably doesn’t help Hussein’s case when many Democrat politicians have not even read the healthcare bill.

He was a Kenyan national according to British law. Are we supposed to accept that British law supersedes the Constitution?

You can’t have dual citizenship and be considered a natural born citizen.

Yes and No!

The Constitution does not allow a British subject or for that matter the citizen or subject of any other nation to be president of this country, and to that effect it recognises the laws of other countries as long as those laws don't usurp the laws of this country.

At the time Obama was born by treaty he would be a British subject and as such not a natural born citizen, it is a choice his mother made for him when she married his father, she choose that he would not be a natural born citizen. It was not this country's laws that chose his nationality but rather the actions of his mother.

If she had never married he would be a natural born citizen.

Obama gained Kenyan (UK and Colonies) citizenship from his father whether they were married or not.

In order to be a British subject the father’s name would have to be on the birth certificate.

If she never married him and never put his name on the Birth certificate Obama or whatever his name would have been would be a natural born citizen because there would be no other nation or nationality involved.

Doesn't matter what British law says, or what nation he was a national of, other than the US. He, BHO Sr., was not a US Citizen. He was a mere visitor, here on a student visa. That is what counts.

The law can’t supercede science. If no father is listed, then Hussein couldn’t prove that he is a natural born citizen.

It is irrelevant anyway, Obama has already claimed to have been at one time a British subject and a Kenyan citizen by birth.

The myth of his origins will be his undoing.

I’ll agree to that (lol)! Yes, the Obama camp admitted that he had dual citizenship up until 1982.

Did he come up with that on his own, or did have to axe the boss first?

Kleon,

Although the Constitution does not explicitly define “natural born,” at least two Supreme Court decisions and at least two Acts of Congress clearly imply that BOTH parents must be USA citizens for a child to be “natural born.”

The reason is simple and persuasive:

The President of the United States must NEVER have divided loyalties on any issue.
