That’s right. I rarely see FReeper Catholics talk about end times or even believe we’re in it. Wonder why?

Because the entire attitude to Biblical interpretation is different.

In Catholicism you are not free to come to your own conclusions about what part means what. We have a creed- a philosophy and a few absolute points of belief - the Bible fits that, through the use of reason, as established by the Church long since.

There was a fashion for millenial thinking in the Church over 1000 years ago, but this has mostly been gone for the subsequent 1000 years.

And this is not limited to Catholics either, many Protestant denominations, as well as all the Orthodox, have similar positions.

I recommend a good book on St. Augustine to start.

They're not dispensationalists (an "evangelical heresy").

They do discuss eschatology, sometimes. I've followed a discussion or two on FR. Did you know R.C.s have end times fiction? LDS likewise.
