Incredibly, President George W. Bush told French President Jacques Chirac in early 2003 that Iraq must be invaded to thwart Gog and Magog, the Bible's satanic agents of the Apocalypse.
Honest. This isn't a joke. The president of the United States, in a top-secret phone call to a major European ally, asked for French troops to join American soldiers in attacking Iraq as a mission from God.
Now out of office, Chirac recounts that the American leader appealed to their "common faith" (Christianity) and told him:
"Gog and Magog are at work in the Middle East. ... The biblical prophecies are being fulfilled. ... This confrontation is willed by God, who wants to use this conflict to erase his people's enemies before a New Age begins."
This bizarre -- seemingly deranged -- episode happened while the White House was assembling its "coalition of the willing" to unleash the Iraq invasion. Chirac says he was boggled by Bush's call, and "wondered how someone could be so superficial and fanatical in their beliefs."

Okay..., that’s understandable... :-)
Or "Hussien," come to think of it.
Thanks for understanding. I learned that from a FRiend years ago and it seems to work. 8~)
I’ll keep that in mind, as I never thought of it before...
I think I would be banned from the Magog School of National Security. I think more discussion is warranted before saddling the Iraqis with the Magog label. I wonder what we have planned for Asia Minor, which really is to the north.
“In chapter 39 Gog is represented (verses 5 and 6) as being accompanied in his invasion of the land of Israel by the Persians, Ethiopians, and Libyans, Gomer, and...the house of Thogorma; and in verse 15 we read: “And thou shalt come out of thy place from the northern parts.” From the number and variety of the peoples mentioned in this connection some writers have inferred that the name Gog may be only a generic appellation, or figure, used in Ezechiel to designate the host of the enemies of Israel, and in the Apocalypse to denote the multitude of the foes of the Church.”
They do not understand that God says what He means and means what He says... :-)

That has been the persistent evidence of the REPLACEMENTARIANS et al’s chronic RUBBER BIBLE’d assertions.
When God says His promises to the childrn of Jacob will remain in force as long as there are stars etc . . . that’s pretty clear . . . except for those without eyes to see and ears to hear.
Reagan’s statements vis a vis Israel were not limited to that by any means.
He clearly saw present day Israel fulfilling Biblical prophecy.
Sounded pretty Dispensational, to me.
He was actually a fair student of Bible prophecy. He reportedly talked about it several times during his tenure.

Some would say rather frequently—like it was a favorite hobby, topic.
40 And the whole valley of the dead bodies and of the ashes, and all the fields as far as the Brook Kidron, to the corner of the Horse Gate toward the east, shall be holy to the Lord. It shall not be plucked up or thrown down anymore forever.

INDEED! Thanks. I’d forgotten the ref’s for those verses and Biblegateway.com was not a big help.
Trouble is, those and similar verses seem to be missing from the REPLACEMENTARIANS, a-mils,’ post-mils,’ preterists,’ run-of-the-mils,’
RUBBER BIBLES.
Mystifying . . . yet they still pretend to believe God’s Word!
Mind boggling.
Sorry, forgot to ping you, OuterShip;

Though I think the REPLACEMENTARIANS’ et al’s
construction on reality is that
their silly UNBiblical, RUBBERIZED BIBLE notions
somehow tie God’s hands to their tiny not-so-tidy little boxes of irrational theology.
They get fixated on a tiny fraction of God’s Word and trash 100’s of other verses that contradict their silly interpretations of a few verses.
Amazing.
Yep, mind boggling is right ... “ignoring the Word of God” in what He flat-out says in no uncertain terms...
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!
BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD!
BLESSED BE THE WORD OF THE LORD!
BLESSED BE THE WAYS OF THE LORD!
THE SMALLEST PUNCTUATION MARK OF GOD’S WORD SHALL NOT FAIL. EVERY DETAIL OF HIS WORD SHALL COME TO PASS AND BEAR FRUIT.
It’s nice to see someone be very enthused over the Word of the Lord about Israel and the coming King to Jerusalem... and that’s not too far away for us to see... ourselves...
Those verses are 'merely' asserting the equality of all before The Cross, IN Christ.
THEY have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with altering in the SLIGHTEST DEGREE God's promises to the Blood Children of Jacob.
Absolutely nothing.
Any notions otherwise are
--RUBBER BIBLED;
--IRRATIONAL;
--UNBIBLICAL;
--borderline BLASPHEMOUS;
--AN AFFRONT TO ALMIGHTY GOD AND HIS WORD;
--UTTERLY MISSING MAJOR POINTS about Almighty God's promises to HIS BUDDY Abraham
--UTTERLY MISSING MAJOR POINTS ABOUT ALMIGHTY GOD'S HEART TOWARD HIS CHOSEN BLOOD DESCENDANTS OF JACOB
--UTTERLY MISSING MAJOR CHUNKS OF GOD'S PLAN FOR the blood children of Jacob AND HIS USE OF THEM TO BRING HIMSELF GLORY.
However, y'all hereon have taught me that folks who can stretch their rubber Bibles so galactically out of whack can imagine any fool thing about Almighty God.
AMEN! AMEN! AMEN! AMEN!

And, I suspect that Dr. E is familiar with folks not reading all of hers or my long posts.
Our scroll buttons work well.
Though I’d think that when posting long passages of Scripture, highlighting at least in bold the phrases, sentences one wants focused on would be helpful.
The significance of the distinction escapes me.
No biggy either way, to me.
