It’s at -9, let’s not project what it will do please. I don’t want to hear the semi-suicidal wailing of people if it swings back up to -6 later this week.

It was at -12 over a week ago

His actions since he took office reflect a nihilistic streak.

I think he has some sort of personality disorder due to his very peculiar upbringing.

Why have we heard from so few early friends and acquaintances? Something is very off with this guy.

Yep, and he had a very predictable up swing for a few days. Now he is having a down swing and we will see if it deepens, stabilizes, or swings back up.

But the trend is encouraging.

Maybe people are waking up to the fact that they voted for a pompous ignorant twit.

How anyone can look at him and listen to him and think LEADER is beyond me

I like the look of this one as well. With any luck he will be in the 45% range by the end of August.

Good news but I’m still of the opinion that the “Strongly Approve” numbers are not going to fall much below 30%

Yea, I'd say that is his core base who will stay with him through 15 % unemployment and and 15 % inflation, etc. . The fight is for the weak Democrat, including that large swath of elderly white Democrats who still don't get how this is going to screw them, yet.

51% + 39% = 90% either disapprove or strongly disapprove?

No, 51% - 39% = 12% mildly disappprove.. Thats the number that should be going up in coming weeks..

Yep just like the 43% who voted for that loser Carter in 80 despite his terrible economy and foreign policy disasters

The history is there for all to see and follow if they have an open mind.

Sitting in Reverend Wright’s church of hate for twenty years.

The associations with corrupt Chicago politicians, the Daley Chicago political machine and friendships and associations with die hard communists, Marxists and domestic terrorists.

The radicalism, the opportunism, the egotism, the narcissism. Makes the Clintons look like dumb sheep by comparison.

I agree with you there.

Definitely Narcissistic. Yes, there is a personality disorder here.

He has a very thinly cloaked temper..

Yes, no friends, no testimonials from teachers, former girl friends.

The other thing that bothers me is the use of cocaine.

I treat drug abuse...the cocaine is a different egg. I’ve never... repeat NEVER met a cocaine user whom you could trust... And I say that because even if it’s a family member you have to be leary.

There’s a long way to go in this presidency. There’s no place to hide. The truth about this man will come out sooner or later.

The contrast too, between him and Bush is striking. While all of us here had our problems with Bush, mine being that he was not following conservative priniciples, terrible communicator, failed to take a stand on energy and the borders..

One thing you can agree on, his presidency was for all the people. Right or wrong, the guy tried to rise above partisan politics, frequently to the chagrin of republicans.

Obama in contrast... is totally partisan. He views half the country as his enemy. Certainly all conservatives and republicans.

He is not a man of the people. He is an elitist.

He is not a Jackie Robinson...He is not someone whom I look up to and am proud of....

Well, he is a White Sox fan...so I’ll give him that.

His actions since he took office reflect a nihilistic streak.

The plan is reverse Reaganism: crank up spending so high that even Republicans will be forced to increase taxes to pay for it all.

I think his ideal master plan would be to get someone else to raise taxes and take the heat off himself.... Childish, nihilistic, moronic, irresponsible.

It’s really a damn shame because Obummer had an opportunity to be a really great black president but he is tossing whatever legacy he expects to have on the wayside

My belief is 0bama has from the beginning wanted to drag this nation leftward, into one radically different than it is today. Schooled by Alinsky, inspired by Jeremiah Wright and funded by George Soros, 0bama never had an intention to be the "post-racial," "post-partisan" unifier he publicly claimed to be. He is a driven, hardline marxist who reads a teleprompter well enough to fool a sufficient amount of voters into thinking he would actually make a positive difference. From the beginning, most conservatives saw 0bama for what he is -- a man with far too radical a leaning for suitability for executive leadership in this country. Unfortunately, 63 million, including, of course, those who couldn't see beyond their own racial pride, hitched up with him. Too bad the entire country has to suffer for it.

Solid description - short and to the point.

OBOZO is a radical marxist....although that's redundant.

I’d love to see his medical records. I’d bet dollars to donuts that he’s had mental health issues.

My bet would be drugs. He acts like someone who is mixing and matching different drugs. Long rambling speeches, sudden bursts of anger followed by grins and smiles. Also the hypersensitivity to criticism is typical of addicts of all stripes.

So the North Korean "hostage rescue" by Klinton was only a temporary bump.

Important to note from the trends is that the "disapprove" rating never slipped more than 2% (its lowest level was 49%). That is key, as it shows that 49% of the people weren't fooled by the propaganda and didn't allow themselves to be distracted.

Also key in today's report is the internal about health care:

When it comes to health care, 51% fear the federal government more than private insurance companies.

One other point that should be viewed favorably:

  • January 30, 2009: Seventy-five percent (75%) of Democrats Strongly Approve of the President’s performance along with 30% of unaffiliated voters and 14% of Republicans.
  • February 5, 2009: Sixty-seven percent (67%) of Democrats Strongly Approve of the President’s performance along with 13% of Republicans and 30% of those not affiliated with either major party.
  • February 12, 2009: Seventy-three percent (73%) of Democrats Strongly Approve of the President’s performance along with 10% of Republicans and 37% of those not affiliated with either major political party.
  • February 19, 2009: ...Sixty-nine percent (69%) of Democrats Strongly Approve while 48% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove. Among those not affiliated with the two major parties, 29% Strongly Approve and 26% Strongly Disapprove.
  • March 5, 2009: Seventy-two percent (72%) of Democrats Strongly Approve of the President’s performance while 52% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove. Voters not affiliated with either major party are fairly evenly divided.
  • March 14, 2009: Sixty-six percent (66%) of Democrats Strongly Approve and 54% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove. As for those who are unaffiliated with either major political party, they are evenly divided between positive and negative reviews.
  • April 6, 2009: Sixty-two percent (62%) of Democrats Strongly Approve while 52% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove.
  • May 29, 2009: ... Seventy percent (70%) of Democrats now Strongly Approve of the President’s performance.
  • June 21, 2009: Sixty percent (60%) of Democrats Strongly Approve of the President’s performance but only 8% of Republicans share that view. Sixty-one percent (61%) of Republicans Strongly Disapprove.
  • July 18, 2009: Fifty-eight percent (58%) of Democrats now Strongly Approve of the President while 63% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove. Among those not affiliated with either major party, 43% Strongly Disapprove.
  • August 10, 2009: Fifty-six percent (56%) of Democrats Strongly Approve while 70% of Republicans Strongly Disapprove. As for those not affiliated with either major party, 22% Strongly Approve and 40% Strongly Disapprove.

That tells me that he is losing not only the independents, but it appears that he is losing the support of his own party.

I’d hate to be the one that has to tell the Narcissist In Chief that he needs to keep his mouth shut in order to get his poll numbers up...LOL!

Will it be Rahm or Axelrod?

Note on polls: I guess the American people don’t much care for a president that sends union thugs out to beat up american citizens that don’t agree with him.

Thought for today:

I am not surprised about Obummer’s poll numbers.
They are dropping faster than Bill Clinton’s pants.

It’s got to be scary for one party to see its opposition party’s base so riled up. But then the consultants come in and pacify them with talk about “swing voters.” Oh, yeah, the swing voters are also riled up against you, Democrats. That’s gotta be terrifying.
