HELLO!? Is this thing on? Good! Listen! Don't vote for Sarah Palin In 2012! America is attacked in 2013 she uses FEMA to lock up her oppenents and then takes over the world! Also they find a cure for Down syndrome and Trig becomes a brutal dictator killing billions!
This helps Michelle Obama XII Become intergalactic dictator. Please don't vote for... OMG! Someones coming!
Good morning! I don’t feel too bad today, even with all I did yesterday. Not even muscle aches. Tomorrow will be the day it all hits...
There are some things left to do, but they can wait a while.
Poor Vlad. Give him a hug from me.
W00t!!
That’s great news! I don’t have any soreness from kayaking, so I’ll have to go out again later, after making sure Ash is safely in her crate! I took Ash for a walk this morning already.
I put some aloe ointment on Vlad, and he’s happily playing something downstairs, but his sunburn is *bad*.
Poor kid. I spent a day at a place called Lagoon, the last day of school, and got SO burned. I took a cool bath in baking soda, and that’s probably the only thing that got me through the night.
I can’t recall ever burning before or after that. Needless to say, I can empathize with Vlad!!
I’ve had many painful sunburns in my life, although not (since I’m a girl) on my entire upper body.
Ash followed Pat upstairs, so I had Tom bring her leash up and I walked her around to the back to the lower-level entrance. Easier than trying to get her down the stairs, and she need to piddle, anyway.
DP and Bill have gone running.
I went kayaking again. Don’t want to overdo it, though. I’ll go the other direction down the lake tomorrow.
So if you go one way down a winding river, you have to go the other way to unwind?
Power went off overnight; alarm did not get me up for teleconference though I think no harm was done. Dragged myself into work late. got little of significance done other than catching up on e-mail, ran a meeting, came home.
Vlad cranky over sunburn?
Takes after his namesake, I suppose.
He’s got open blisters on his shoulders. I guess Sunday was the first time this year he’d been out without a shirt! James went in the water this afternoon with his shirt on. Maybe Vlad will feel like it tomorrow.
LOL!!
Well, good night. I’m planning to push Frank up the hill to the Methodist Church tomorrow morning, to look at their cemetery. Ash didn’t want to walk that far.
We went to another nearby Methodist Church today that had a revival campground, with little cabins (”tents”) and a covered outdoor assembly area (”arbor”). Elen and James went through the cemetery with me, and we realized it was the local black Methodist congregation, originating around 1900, I’d guess. I was starting to deduce it from the first names on the older headstones, and then the newer ones, from about 1990 on, had photos inlaid.
One gentleman who died in the 1990s had been a barber; his stone had a laser-etched portrait of him and pictures of barbers’ tools. There was one group of a mother and three daughters, aged about 8 to 18, who all died in one week in the summer of 1920. Must have been an epidemic. Another was a 2-month-old baby, in the 1950s, and next to the baby’s stone was the 16-year-old mother, who had died when the baby was a month old.
It’s probably not a bad idea to check out the neighborhood.
The cemetery where my folks are is like that. I recall one site where mother and daughter are laid together.
In addition to my parents and other relatives, I have a friend in there. His passing was one of the things that turned me on to writing poetry.
Anoreth used to visit cemeteries with me. Maybe Elen will come up tomorrow. I plan to make Tom walk along - he needs the exercise!
There’s a property for sale at the end of the street we’re on. Someone told DP that it’s listed for $1.1 million, but the owner would probably take $850K with buyer financing. It’s a big piece of land, right on the point between two branches of the lake, with a 1950-ish frame house and a log-built fishing cabin on it.
Twenty acres big?
No, 2-3 acres of prime lakefront property with county utilities and a paved road big.

INCOMING MESSAGE FROM THE YEAR ZOT!!!!! LOL. I was just in the Year Zot next week! I had the flux-capacitor up too high and knocked Marty & the Doc off the road and into the Mesozoic Era. I think their both Liberals, so no loss. Let me tell you about the rest of my trip: First I zipped back in time to 1982 to remissness on what is was like when we had a President who truly honored the Constitution, protected the nation from all enemies foreign and domestic, and made you proud of who was in the White House. Then I jumped forward to Jan 20, 2017, just in time to see President Palin be sworn in for her second term. That made me feel good too, especially to see even more government buildings with "for sale" signs in front of them as part of Sarah's continuing effort to shrink the federal government. She still looks smokin' in a swimsuit at age 53, but she's most respected for her showing at the 2014 Winter Olympics, when she won the Gold in the Skiing & Rifle Biathlon.
Now I won't spoil the ending for you. But I WILL tell you that with Byrd & Pelosi both out of office, and the new Speaker of the House and President Pro Tem of the Senate both Republicans ... well, the Marines down in Gitmo which never closed by the way are freeing up at least two new holding cells in anticipation. Roomy Executive suites, of course ... |
Totally awesome future reporting! Thank you, BP2 for having clairty of vision. They say that what one visions becomes reality. I liked the picture of the two in their cell. Thanks again for your creative vision and for sharing it so graphically. You have definitely placed a picture in my mind.
