Yes, to lose the summer coat they grew in the spring. The spring shedding is worse as the winter coat is coming off.

Ash has very short fur, so it’s hard to see whether she’s shedding more than usual. I noticed in the spring, though.

The winter fur is thicker, I guess.
Rush has a very fine undercoat, which means tons of tiny hairs floating around. Brushing him helps, but these tiny hairs seem to get everywhere.
