Given the American Conservative pot is boiling and bubbling, I wonder if the ranks of FreeRepublic are growing? Is there any way to track if the numbers of members on FreeRepublic have increased in number since the election and inauguration of President Obama?
I truly believe that forums like this are necessary to the freedom of our country, and I want to be heartened by the news that, yes, the numbers of new members and activities of old members are time for the masses to peaceably assemble and get really, fires-of-Hell mad.
This administration and the Liberals in this country are banking on our complacency. I want to know that I'm not the only one out here whose blood is boiling, and I want to know that we're not going to give up this country without a fight. It's time for action.
I’m pretty tired of the blog flogging for new start up blogs. It is the new media though. I’d rather the poster link to the article instead of the blog that discusses the article.
There is a reason for that, there is less and less “real” news stories in the MSM.
If you will look at Fox News, the best of the MSM, their news stories seem to lag web blog coverage by a day or two.
It is seldom in the MSM “first”.
If it has anything to do with “real Amerians” it will “never” appear in the MSM other than Fox.
This is why newspapers are dying, AP (Always Propoganda) is even more inept and biased. The newspapers bought the idea that they could purchase content cheaper than they could create it, made a mistake. The content of what they purchase is so bad it is not worth printing. No one believes it or wants to read about it.
I’m willing to condemn Republicans when they deserve it. The domestic spending splurge, earmark scandals and ethical slides is what cost the GOP the majority and was a self-inflicted wound. That said, I don’t think I have all the answers and neither does anyone else. And as you can see from my tagline I’m not alone in being willing to work with people who don’t always agree with me.

To a degree you are correct. There are several blogs that use FR as a daily posting site for their rants. The blogger will post his stuff and never respond but that gets his blog a little more exposure.
A lot of this would be less noticeable if it was possible to select which forums one wanted to follow. As it is you can either select one or all. As an example I’d love to be able to block the Gen. Chat, blogger, and religion forums so that I’d not see those post.
Make a 3-D chart showing rate of signups vs. longevity vs. frequency of posts (and/or viewing). That would separate the signal from the noise nicely.
I’ve been telling my friends. Close your eyes and listen to what the pols and talking heads say, don’t look at who is saying it. Think for yourself.

So disapear and quit posting here. RINOS, which you probably consider moderates, are worse than liberal democrats.
"RINO scum" seems to be the label for anyone who hasn't wholly embraced the Birthers on the multitude of BC threads that have turned into nothing more than a groupthink circle jerk. It's gotten tiring.
Sigh, like I said permanent minority. We have the opportunity now, with Obama’s imperial overreach, to change the dynamic in this country. It won’t happen if we limit our outreach only to purists.

First, I am no longer a Republican, and I am still here, As far as toeing the “conservative” line, that is what a alot of the food fights on threads are over. What is and what should be the conservative line.
IMHO, I think the anarcho-Capitalists are a cancerous rot at the heart of the GOP and not what true conservatism is about. I do pretty much toe the line on other conservative issues.
So I speak my piece, I get called some names, I call some names back, and hopefully we all end up smarter in the process. I think some people hold back and don’t want to get caught up in these conflicts, but in my 11 years of being here, I have not seen any people who argue in good faith run off.
Jim Thompson is right that this is not “liberal” forum, and not a place for trolls and such, but I see a lot of discussion on this site, and it is pretty much the only one I hang out at since I am no longer involved in PUF.
I see the birthers and anti-birthers fight. The pro-Palin and ?Palins discuss.
Looks to me like there are plenty of new faces.

Actually, I wasn’t a Giuliani supporter. I liked Fred Thompson myself, although that didn’t go anywhere. And I’m a gun owner and Second Ammendment purist. But purging all Giuliani supporters certainly didn’t prevent an Obama presidency and a massive Democratic congressional majority.
People at DarwinCentral are obsessed with FR. They keep track of this type thing over there. They probably even have a graph for this very topic.
